Some newbie questions

Post by BenLen »

I just got the game and I'm really enjoying it! There were a couple small things I couldn't figure out, maybe someone can shed some light on these:

1. I received a governor with only negative traits (-10 trade, -10 income). Is there a benefit for having a governor (even though he is a bad one)? Or does he literally only make things worse.
2. I found a debris field of ancient ships and from what I can tell the only interaction is to have a constructor repair them. My constructor has been repairing the one ship for over 3 game years now... am I missing something here or does it just take really really long to fix up those ships?
3. In the top right corner, what does "Bonus Income" mean?

Thanks in advance!

1) Some are really bad, but a few with negative traits can turn around after getting some experience.
2) It takes very long time to repair. Still should provide you with a powerful ship compared to your other ones. Don't repair when you need the construction ship to build vital mines/stations, do it after.
3) WoodMan made an answer here: fb.asp?m=3332319
