help with slow Frame rate

Post by VonBlk »

Greetings,
I've just re-installed SPWAW have'n downloaded it some time back.
I have a little problem tho the "framerate" is very slow.
I don't know alot about computers but i have "ok" system
AMD k6 1200, 512 ram, windows SE, and a geforce 2 (64meg) card.

but when I move unit on the map...it go's one hex stops then go's
one hex...as you can guess this takes a LONG time to move units.
is there a patch? or setting I can change?

also noticed that the "scroll" is really too fast.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Welcome aboard: Easy fixes, under preferences you can adjust scroll delay and movement delay amoung other settings to suit your liking.

Movement Delay – This value determines how long a pause occurs between frames of animation in movement. This means that a high value will cause units to appear to move slowly from hex to hex, while a low value sends them zipping along the map. If you prefer the brief delays that were common in Steel Panthers I or II, then reduce this value. XXX is the fastest speed possible, limited only by your CPU speed and graphics card capability.

If your running version 1. Then is absolutly worth the time to download 7.1, the game has evolved so much over the past 3 years.
