My #1 request for UV and WITP!!!
After you press the turn button all sorts of reports come up and are listed at the bottom of your screen. Such things as fleet sightings and ASW attacks and losing certain planes and pilots. Depending on how you have the game set up these messages can disappear very fast. And once the turn is over they are gone forever. Because the game takes a long time I usually have my messages and combat displays on faster settings. Thus it is sometimes hard to know what the messages say and what is going on. Also, I hate it when I miss knowing the arrival of my troops and ships. If somehow these message reports could be accessed at the end of the turn like the combat reports can be in an After Action Reports button that would be awesome. Just a list of the day's events that are not shown in the combat reports. Sort of like an events list button or something. I like to know everything that is going on and not just what happened in specific battles. That would be really a really cool feature. In a game as vast as WITP you really need to know what is going on everywhere at the end of the turn. This would be a great simple summary access to keep up with things during the game. And because WITP is going to be an even longer game this is a necessity for game speed options. Please, please, please!!! Oh well, here's hoping....
I certainly will put in a vote for this. On the turns where the seas are filled with ships and they get spotted by four or five different search planes etc. it is diddicult to keep track of - and this is only in UV - WitP will have much more of this type of information to keep track of.

I agree with this.
Almost all 'ship sunk' reports are on this scrolling screen and do not make it onto the combat report.
I feel that a ship sunk report is worthy of a combat report.

I wouldn't mind seeing a list of SOME of those messages, like the ships which hit mines and the pilots who got a kill or died, but I DON'T want to see a list of every ship sighting and the 20+ coastwatcher reports every round. Ship sightings without a location context would be worthless.

They don't have to be without location. And with some options you should be able to get/not get certain reports - so you could turn off coastwatcher reports and keep some others.

One of my annoyances is with ship sitings is where they appear during the running of the turn, but do NOT remain visible for the actual orders phase.
A sighting is a sighting! I don't care it the information is 23:59 old. I still want to see it represented on the map!
Due to the large number of things going on, I generally use F8 to turn off the pop up reports and run with 0.1 sec for all messages. If I blink, I miss stuff. This is silly, we are not playing an arcade game. The entire length of messages scrolling past should be dumped into the combat log file.
There are vast differences between what one sees happening and what is reported in the VERY brief Combat Report file. This is wrong. If from a PBEM standpoint, too much information is spooled, then fix that problem, don't simply neglect to give us the details of what happened.
This is going to be FAR worse in WitP for obvious reasons.

It has been added!
I think this feature has been added to WiTP. I'm 95% sure I saw a post in the WITP forum that addressed this.

Is this true? Does anyone else know about this? Developers?
Thanks Rick!
This particular feature while being very nice for UV will be almost a requirement to play WitP with probably double the amount of information to digest per turn.
It might be a good idea to Post this famous list for folks to peek at now and then (obviously knowing that there is no commitment to delivering anything in it) ...

Sorry it will not get posted, for the same reasons I don't tell my kid I "might" get her a car for her 16th birthday.

but but but ... daddy ... you said i could drive ... how can i drive without a car ... i'll die ... all my other friends have cars ... i can't go to school ... people will laugh ... but you said ...

I understand that posting would result in about a million complaints that feature xxx must be in the game etc ... and people will start arguing about feature yyy being more important then feature zzz and after a thousand odd messages on each and every one of them no one will even remember that you never said that ANY of them would ever be even considered for inclusion ...
You just can't win sometimes ... but hey, that doesn't mean we give up, we just restart again!

It is not in WitP yet but is on the list to be done in WitP before release. Can't give you any details yet, but we realize that players want to have access to all of the messages.
