Unit reinforcements between scenarios

Post by colberki »

It seems that units in the HQ are not automatically rebuild to full strength as I can see many are below 15 SP. However the Hint screen suggests that core units should avoid being refitted during a scenario as it happens automatically between scenario. I am also finding that I have to spend resources to reinforce any under strength units.

Appreciate very much a clarification.

I've noticed the same thing. I'm also looking forward to an answer about this.

If the Units are not automatically refit is there a way to see their strength in the HQ or deployment screens? Possibly a way to refit them in the HQ before they hit the map? My last deployment of 14 Core units had most of the units show up very reduced in strength and there were a lot of other units I could have chosen.
Thanks.

Yes, me too resulting in them "losing" a turn refitting on map at the start of the next scenario.

Thanks for the reply - I just checked it out and it verifies. However the refit cost resources which is fine and stops "gamey" strategies to refit free lots of low SP units in between scenarios. It remains for the developer to confirm design intent, which the Hints section needs to be amended.

Lesley, thanks for the info.
This leads me to a couple of questions. Do unused resource points carry forward to your next Campaign scenario or is it spend it or lose it? Also, do any of the Campaign scenarios evey give more resource points as you conquer objectives etc. or is your beginning total what you have for the entire scenario?

Hello,

first i want to say sorry as the hints are incomplete. The game system offers two ways to handle refitting between to maps of a campaign. One is complete refit of all Units, the other is no refit,
So the hints are true for all campaigns but the A-A one. It was intended to have no free refit to simulate the attrition and to challenge the player with choices in that area.
This is not mentioned in the hints and will be added for the next version.
Resources stay with the player. On some maps you get a bonus, but thats very rare. You get resource for an operation and usually have to cope with the amount. OKH is more generous in several important battles.

Thanks for all your attention to my many questions. Just to clarify in my mind, if at the end of an A-A Campaign scenario I had 300 resource points left then I would start the next scenario with 300 more points than if I had zero et the end?
Thank you.

Hello,

exactly. If you have 300 resources at the end of map A and you would get 200 additional on following map B you would have 500 to spend on map B.

Great! The resource issue in the A-A Campaign makes the game more difficult than I expected which to me is a good thing. Right now I'm trying to decide about my next scenario deployment. My experienced units are beat up and I'd have to use lot of resources to refit them so I'll have to use some "green" units. So far, I haven't even been close to being able to upgrade any equiptment.
Good Game.
