River Transport in Tutorial

Civil War 2 is the definitive grand strategy game of the period. It is a turn based regional game with an emphasis on playability and historical accuracy. It is built on the renowned AGE game engine, with a modern and intuitive interface that makes it easy to learn yet hard to master.
This historical operational strategy game with a simultaneous turn-based engine (WEGO system) that places players at the head of the USA or CSA during the American Civil War (1861-1865).

River Transport in Tutorial

Post by Rucker1959 »

Love the look, feel, detail, etc. of the game.

And the tutorial is well done with one exception -- I can't figure out the river transport. When you do land movement, you get visual feedback on the fact that the unit is planning to move (two pictures of the unit, one where it is, one where it's going, and a line between the two locations). I am completely missing that when I order units onto river transports, and when I use the river transport option (under the crossed sabers for special orders). I click where I think I'm supposed to, but there's no visual feedback to see if it's going to happen.

So I'm either clicking this wrong (smile here), or it's the interface. I'm thinking I'm the problem, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong from the way the tutorial is written.

Any help?

Thanks.

Are you getting an error message stating the unit cannot enter the selected area? I find that I have to
play around with the mouse to ensure that I am, in fact, selecting the river area and not an adjoining
land area.

Once you enable riverine transport via the special order under the crossed sabers, drag and drop the selected stack on a highlighted river segment. You should see the same path trace as you do with land movement (with circles between segments), but the path trace should follow the river and the circles denoting the regions through which your transports will pass should be half-filled with water.

THANKS! That's what I'm doing wrong -- failing to drag and drop.

Again -- much appreciated.
