Foreign Entry

Post by Dorb »

Just wondering if anyone has had any foreign help yet with military forces? If so how did it go? I am still messing around with the tutorials at this point. Always thought it would be interesting to see some red or white forces mixed in with the blue and gray.

No one has had British or French forces help out with military forces I take it. [>:]

Isn't there already a setting in game options that allows you to do this? I've never tried using it, so I'm not sure what it does.

But has anyone triggered it yet for military support? I was curious to see what forces were sent to help the CSA.

Foreign intervention would, IMO, end the game immediately; Union would be doomed.

It would be interesting to check out, though

Not necessarily, it would just change the dynamics. Union would loose Naval supremacy, but the Brits would not send more than 30-40.000 men over. That is not game breaking.

Never saw it happen, ACW1 or 2. Close in my most recent game, but when the North started steamrolling (and when Emancipation occurs), the chance dropped dramatically.

When I get to the campaign and give it ago as my brothers down south, I may have to lower the entry level to see if I can get some European visitors to help carve up the country. I mean who has not wondered what could have been if they would have backed the CSA? Dare I ponder.

As one new to CW2 (just got it yesterday and still reading the manual) one wonders:

Can the French or British intervene on the side of the Union? If so wouldn't that seal the fate of the Confederacy?

If the British intervene on the side of the South might not the Union invade Canada in an effort to tie up British forces there so they couldn't be used in support of the Southern war effort? Can the north invade Canada in CW2?
Freedom is not free! Nor should it be. For men being men will neither fight for nor value that which is free.

I believe Canada is not covered in this game.

Hi Werewolf, the Europeans will not join the North. Some southern areas of Canada are represented (Montreal),and if the British join the south, the North can indeed tie up troops in Canada.
