Fleet Admirals and the hyperjump speed skill

Post by drmario89 »

I'm not sure if this is the intended effect or not, but I've noticed that when fleet admirals have the hyperjump speed skill (or whatever its called), the only ship in the fleet that is affected is the one the admiral is on. I would think that it would affect the entire fleet, hence the name "fleet" admiral. If it was a ship captain, it would make sense that the only ship affected is the one the character is on. As far as I've noticed, the hyperjump speed skill is the only one that does this. It's easy to see this because the ship with the admiral is either quite a bit ahead of the rest of the fleet or behind it. But yeah, as far as the other skills go I have no idea since it's not as easy to see. Just wondering if this is correct behavior or not.

I already reported that a long time ago along with numerous problems with character skills. The problem is actually that the bonuses are doubled for the ship hosting the admiral, so when it has a hyperspeed bonus/malus that ship often flies faster or slower than the rest of the fleet (that depends on the mission type given to the fleet too, for example all the ships will adjust on the slowest when performing an attack if I remember well)

But I haven't had the impression checking/fixing skills was a priority. [:(]

I sometimes wonder about bugged trait spawning too.The amount of the times I get poor space defender for no apparent reason.

Yes it is with Shadows.

It also seems that alcoholism runs rampant in the upper echelons of my military. I had a game where every single admiral and general were drunks.

I believe trait generation is based on actual character activity, if you have your admirals sitting around doing nothing they're gonna become drunks, if you have them destroy enemy ships and bases they get a bunch of good traits.
