DV, the major breakpoints so far as morale goes are mostly indirect ones like 50, 85, etc. that relate to mobility and rout chances.

CV I think is much more granular. 77 to 78 really doesn't matter more or less than 79 to 80 in terms of raw combat values.

I have a feeling that hitting morale milestones in increments of 10 is more important than simple increases in morale. For instance, it seems to me that getting from 79 to 80 is more important than getting 77 to 78. I'm not sure if thats a game principle or not but it sure seems that way. Maybe its just psychological.

The increments of 10 do not matter , just one point of morale can be offset by better experience , lower fatigue or just 1-2 points in Toe .
for instance i have :

292th infantry it has reached 80 morale in the first turn and trained up to 76 experience , it has 9.7 ofensive cv .

58th infantry only reached 79 morale in the first turn , and trained up to 76 experince , it has 9.9 ofensive cv.

While counterintuitive at first glance ,the is simple explaination:

292th had take more losses and it is at 96% Toe , while 58th is at 98 %.

Doing well DV.

You are clearly going to be much stronger in Spring '42 than you were against us, and I suspect AG is weaker. This is both about morale and numbers, because both translate into combat strength.

Your tactics against us swill work better this sps game as a result. Herding is 1 of your strengths and a weaker Russian will find it harder to break pockets or to distract you by offensives elsewhere. Kill enough soviet units/APs and it gets easier for you. If you don't, it gets harder: but you already know that.

TURN 41 - CRIMEAN CAMPAIGN

So due to the terrifying blizzard of 2014. Tennessee has a whopping 2" of snow and I'm off work. Let's do an AAR update.

One of the main things I do to prepare for a 42 campaign is rearrange my SU allocation. Between December-March I have transferred 30 Pioneer, all Heavy arty (150mm+), all rockets, SP flak, infantry (MG and Bicycle) and SPG units to OKH. In december I set all their TOE's to 50 to make sure the front line units get the bulk of replacements. Once the line stabilizes between January-February I rearrange the TOE settings to begin building them up. Needless to say that come March I had plenty of fresh untapped health to start a few preliminary campaigns. Generally I allocate a mixed flak battalion to every infantry Corps while FliegerKorps and PanzerKorps get a motorized flak battalion. All of my SP flak gets allocated to mech divisions once the main campaign starts.

One of my first goals come February-March is twofold:

1- Achieve bridgeheads on frozen rivers. In this particular campaign I have forced A-Game off the Mius river to aid in the drive to Rostov.

2- The more important goal..is to set up mass attacks to recover morale. If given easy targets I will stack 9 divisions against a brigade just to get a point or two of morale. I do this up and down the line picking targets I know I will win against regardless of defensive reserves. This ensures that the rank and file infantry division is at or above NM come June 42.

My first strategic goal is the Crimea. The Crimea has been under Siege since October and held in place by the Romanians. The last 2 turns have seen 2 Corps of 11th Army rail into place to begin preparations for assault. This force includes the elite airlanding division. The main change however is the head of 11th army pictured here:

In the assault every division received a full strength pioneer battalion while the 2 assaulting Corps received a tremendous mass of artillery and rockets. After 5 months of attrition and endless air raids the assault on the Crimea ended in 1 attack. With supreme optimization and awesome leaders in Corps and Army HQ..check out the battle multiplier..This seems silly to me that the Crimea falls in one battle but I'm not complaining.
