Car Wars did have arenas..and then with Sunday Drivers City racing with motorcycle gangs and foot gangs.

Count me in for either a Nascar or a Car Wars game based on Qvadriga.
Maybe even both.

I do believe that a Nascar game would be closer to Qvadriga.
Yes you can whip your opponents horses but the main goal of Qvadriga is to WIN the race, not destroy all your opponents.

The Car Wars boardgame took place on a open highway and the goal was to destroy your opponents. There was no finish line.

Some Nascar tracks lend themselves to a lot of whipping of the opponents "horses"

I watched a DAS24680 playthrough of this game, and have decided to buy it on the strength of his work. I reckon DAS has given you quite few buys over time.

Anyway, while watching the playthrough, it occurred to me that the same principle could be applied to motor racing management games. I was thinking formula 1 (because that's my main interest). So I came to this board to post my opinion, then realised others have already got there, with NASCAR. I can see that NASCAR may be just as good as F1, or possibly even better. Anyway, I do think there are other opportunities here - your game mechanics are fabulous.

I don't know, I never played the game, but it sounds pretty silly![:D]

So would Ogre, it would be the most obvious because the Ogre is so dang easy to do an AI for.

I don't think any of SJG have been done on a computer....odd now that I think of it.

For me, a NASCAR or Formula 1 type game might be interesting if you could set up your car in various ways and NOT have to sit through each lap.

Early NASCAR and early Forumla 1. Tweaking various aspect that may or may not be caught by the judges, weight saving designs, engine mods, fuel mods, tires and suspension tweaks. Might be fun.

Someone long ago did a computer Ogre game, just like the old paper boardgame. Fairly crude in appearance and play, but just as viable as the paper version.
