After an email from Matrix informing me of a new patch I downloaded, installed and ran the game. Having opened the first tutorial it suddenly dawned on me why I never played the game when it originally came out. Lack of info.
Following the instructions to look at the load out of the aircraft I realised most of what was displayed meant squat. What is a LDGP? I could look it up in Wiki (if wiki is correct that is) but I shouldn't have too, you have produced the game, supply the info.
Not being a compete numpty I'm familiar with 60-70% of what is shown below but not profile or how in affects things. Nor am I familiar with all the stuff after cruise at...
Also in the loadouts available what does 'excl. optional weapons' mean?
If all this is already available, please point me in the right direction and I apologise beforehand.
I tend to agree with you, this is one of the "drawbacks" many of my friends point out about CMANO: that it is very difficult to know what each weapon (or aircraft, or sensor) does at a simple glance. I do miss the short descriptions of each unit the original Harpoon had, I learnt a lot that way [:D]
However, I'm finding, with CMANO, that one of the parts I enjoy most is doing a little research about a given scenario's units before playing it. You see, I can find my way with Cold War era stuff, but I'm quite lost with current Russian and Chinese hardware [:D][:D]
Could it be possible to add a little "Description" field to the databases? So a newbie can say, with a quick glance, "Ok, so these Eurofighter Typhoons are basically air-to-air jets with a secondary strike capability, I can use them as backup or reinforcements for these Tornado GR.4". Perhaps it is not worth the effort having Wikipedia a few clicks away, but well...How many database entrances are there? [:D][:D]
