Are the battles in BA2 larger in map size and number of units than BA1?

I'd be curious myself. I do know BA2 has a record 133 units in its Squad file; next best is Arnhem with 121. Would also like to know just how many more designs we could add to the file.

I've successfully edited the number of men in each squad (max of 8) and that works well in the game. I suspect all of the values can be edited if you want to replace existing unit types with something else. Not sure about adding to the list yet.

You can have up to 1024 units in the squads file. When you create a custom squads file in a user campaign it will by default add on to the core squads file, but placing #REPLACE in the first cell will cause your squads file to be the only one used.

It is surely a great and flexible system. I like four-man mortar squads and will also paste units in directly from another campaign, and it works! But 1024 - don't think I need that many.

We should also be sure to encourage our Steam brethren to check out BA2.

In addition to the official editor, you can change every aspect of each unit in the Squads file (after carefully backing it up). This you cannot do in the editor. I have increased # of men, speed and morale, for example

Just as a note - don't change the main game files ideally. They will get clobbered by any updated (or could cause the updates to break). Build your own custom campaign and tinker with the values in there.

Yes, sorry I didn't mention that.

As an aside, Ageod's patches are the most aggressive I've ever seen and actually remove any "odd" folders anywhere within the game's directory. Like a folder called "mod backups." Days of work - poof! Now I save them on my desktop :)
