No I don't think that's it, I gave it a thought at the time actually. Something's missing as far as game engine's considered, and if a reinstall don't cut it I am out of ideas at the moment [:(]

carl11, please do the following:

[*]Verify that infobox.bmp exists, in the same folder as the game programs (the .exe files).
[*]Delete all .log files.
[*]Retry launching the game. If it fails, where it fails, please quote here the error box message in full.
[*]Again provide the last dozen or so lines (only) of engine.log file, also the error.log file in full, if any. No need for any other .log files.

Maybe also upload and attach your infobox.bmp file, if you/we can figure out how to get the forum to accept it.

The info box bmp, when I open it seems ok, can’t figure out how to get it to you here, the boxes are 'hollow' in that they have all of the graphics except actual units.

Copy-and-paste infobox.bmp into some temporary folder, anywhere away from the game folder. In a Windows Command Prompt window, rename the file as infobox.txt (using, um, the 'rename' command). Then upload and post here.

It sure looks like something is wrong with your infobox.bmp file. Else your graphics system doesn't like that file for some reason.

The command would be, I believe:

> rename infobox.bmp infobox.txt

If the forum complains "file too large" for upload, zip it first, then rename the .zip file as a .txt file.

Yep, you need to rename the *.zip extension into *.txt then you can attach it here.

Weird, I always just right click on the zip in Windows Explorer, hit rename, then .text(removing.zip). It will whine at you about file maybe not working or something, hit ok.

It has been a little while, I guess still no luck? I read somewhere, that a primary surface may already have been drawn, so another can't, until the particular program has been closed? However, I assume that you have many times rebooted and tried, so no program has done anything before trying JTCS? I'm going to assume you also have the latest directx installed as well?

Oh yea, I DLed the latest drivers for my chipset, DX etc etc....so, that being said, after seeing your message in my Box this morning, I figured what the hell?

I am here at work with that laptop, hooked up my external drive, started the game and ...it NOW works...how and why?

I cannot say for sure; HOWEVER unrelated to this, I was working on another issue.

My cpu was was running hard, looking at my resource monitor WmiPrvSE.exe was the culprit, after doing some reading, I decided to stop the process via Services.....the cpu usage dropped off, and this is the first time I tried running the game since.........[:D]

Computers eh? watcha gonna do [8D]

Got a new bitmap failure here.

In EFII for the United States, unit P10504 P47 Ground attack air unit.

Got the attached error in a random design scenario I was play testing against the A/I.
