Pirate Protection

Post by Unforeseen »

I don't think I've noticed this problem before; Pirates are offering me protection for numbers in the hundreds. 250 for example, however when I accept it actually charges me anywhere between 2000-3500. Missing digit in the programming somewhere?

Is that because the amount you accept is the monthly charge and the income you view in the top right corner is your yearly income.

So when you accept the cost of 220 with the pirates it equates to 2640 over a whole year which is what is removed from you income that is displayed.

Well that's how I seem to notice it working. When they show up wanting 3,5000 for protection when I start expanding it really hurts the account.

Yes, it's due to the fact that pirates give you a monthly rate and everything else related to finance gives you the numbers in terms of the annual income or cost. There's a very good reason why a lot of the advice related to pirate protection is pay as few pirates as you can get away with for the shortest possible amount of time, and wipe them out as the permanent solution to the irritation.
