t63 North end

Post by BrianG »

North final. one hex again from salvation. There is nt enough of anything to break the line.

Attack are feeble even with Ger units far from supply lines. I break open right pocket again.

RE: t63 Yaraslov end

Post by BrianG »

I save units again and make attempt for cut off troops to reach Yaraslov. No luck corridor is 3 deep.

I withhold sending in locale tank reinforcements.

Post by BrianG »

More major cut off but leaves middle open of Ger troops.

My sacrificed guard tank corp seems in good locale to be able to escape[:'(]

t63 Stalino mid turn

Post by BrianG »

Another Rumanian unit sent to oblivion.

Shattered.

This is mid move down south. Trying to put up buffers and semi corrals.

And survive!

And do note: Crimea front has moved North into the middle. Here is good general in the thick of the action.

I have not really been changing hq's as very low on AP's

t63 Stalino juiced up tanks

Post by BrianG »

Mid way into my moves it finally computed that I need to attack his behind the line tank units which have been air juiced.

These 2 were my prime annoyance.

I must attack to drawn down oil supply

t63 end Stalino

Post by BrianG »

Here I had to

retreat tank units near Big D

Attack to again save middle troops trapped south of the river.

The pocket cannot be closed b/c I have strong units there to counter attack

lots of action. Checkerboard north of Donets.

Again I do not attack Italian mech unit which has weak 5th panzer in stack.

t 63 end kursk corrected

Post by BrianG »

bad photo ... wrong turn.

Now corrected.

My positions east of Kursk are in hexes with good fort levels.

Kursk area end 63

btw. the cut off rus inf unit west of Kursk was a bad move.
It was moved the prior turn in order to reroute a panzer amry hq which had been routed out earlier in the turn.

Instead it could have easily escaped east and would have been helpful north of Big K during the next turn.

t63 final Tula

Post by BrianG »

I corral and hope for the best.

I shove guard cav corp into hex just east of Tula in the river bend.

I had to route a few tank units. they will be pain next turn.

I slowly try to get troops out which are w of Tula.

I must confess I've utterly lost the plot as to who was encircling whom in the south [;)], don't think I've ever read about a game so far off the normal track.

End 63 update

Post by BrianG »

Basically, he keeps cutting me off and I desperately try and return the favor.

The problem is that his routed tank units are then ready next turn to reblitz!

Also, I have major VP point concerns. At this point its approx 244.

He is very low in tanks. Probably b/c they are mostly in no position to get reinforced.

I just started to attack his recon bases. Also, my bomber corp has taken a 1942 beating after being in good shape over the winter.

I can't wait for mud!

I've never thought of a PvP game having a song associated with it, but perhaps this crazy game deserves one.

Yes but you have until April before either side can claim a win....and the win condition isnt working either I dont think till next patch so would have to be a declared winner lol.

Going to be interesting as his army is beat up, its just a matter of if your losses are to high to sustain a line by winter.....at the same time though his forces are weak and beat up....all those destroyed units being rebuilt and thrown back into the line take awhile to get their experience back up to 70+ for the Germans and hes losing alot of Axis allied forces.

I think what might get you is how much manpower he grabbed in the north on top of super heavy attritional fighting. On his side he would probably be best served by just starting to rout out your forces for the heavy losses all those routs would be since he cant lock the encirclement and it would reduce the risks to his mobile forces.

By January 1945 there will be 3 Russian divisions and 2 tank corps fighting a panzer division, a mot division, and 3 Rumanian infantry divisions for control of the entire map. Everything else will be destroyed. [:)]

t64 KIA

Post by BrianG »

This is the casualty list prior to Russian t64 moves.

One question I have is why it shows such low losses for German side.
I would think it should show higher levels attrition with all their units

Despite the super heavy losses to the Axis not looking good for you unless you inflict massive losses on the axis soon.

Only 4.5 Million soviets facing almost that many total axis not good odds. Also wonder if he has disbanded the air bases yet to supply manpower to his combat units.

To your point .5 million are not combat troops they are in the AB's and another .5 in HQ's.

So the 3.5 is really 3.0, as soon as he disbands AB's his OOB will drop and manpower pool grow.

His problem is his AP pool because of heavy losses he is in the hole for a long time

IF SHC can stabilize things Germany will fall very quickly.

Russian OOB is not what matters its the German OOB

As we have seen in some of TDV past AAR's hes horrible at defending and once Russian lines stabilize TDV puts up the white flag withen a yr as his german army simply gets wiped out very quickly
