t 65 Gorlaka

Post by BrianG »

While tdv went south of Stalino for his attack, I retook Garloka and its VP,

This south pincer is without tanks strength. Well may one minor tank ally.

At this point I am very concerned about losing lots of my troops
and being so weak I cannot stop him from steamrolling the vp's needed.

My eyes are also on the weather chart as mud will be a dream come true.

His units can be bounced easily If I have enough local strength.

Here is the OOB for the end of Turn 65

t 66 far south

Post by BrianG »

TDV continues his attack north by diluting his right flank and leaving with Rum troops.

I keep wondering if he will bring back tanks down south to exploit.

Or, frankly, how far can infantry go alone.

t 66 STALINO

Post by BrianG »

or shall I Volgslavograd. Which he captured on his breakthru with a tank unit I had not seen. And the Hungary tank.

More mess.

You can see from his attacks what he did this turn.

Another breakthrough and another cut off.

t 66 Big V area

Post by BrianG »

This is what I looked at when the file came back.

Almost a nice sideways figure eight or our favorite 'infinity' which sums up how many times I've been cut off.

Please note the Guards corp right in the middle. Somehow it had decent fuel and mp near 35.

Somehow I still hold Kursk and Kharkov.

Russian attack v GD.

They retreated more than one hex.

This was after I squeezed a Guard tank corp into the breach to cut off this german grouping

t 66 Big Tullaarea

Post by BrianG »

Leaving this around Tula.

I attack his troops north of Tula as well.
Plus trying to get my tank corp out which is odd b/c I just threw the GD tank in.
There are maybe 20 divisions in this pocket.

T66 end Big V

Post by BrianG »

I do my best to open a wide space between his forward tanks.

My Guards tank did a lot of roaming and attacks in the small middle area before retreating to a fort hex.
I also cut around West of Kharkov and cut off those German forces just to the East.
Actually most of his tank forces are cut off this turn.

STalino end 66

Post by BrianG »

Well Just mayhem at its best. I again resupply my far West tank units and also drop air fuel.

I attack all over where I am strong and retreat from his big move over the Milus River.
I could not retake Voroshilovgrad.

Here you can see some fort levels.

Turn 67 south

Post by BrianG »

german moves leave this mess.

Somehow he breaks his tank unit out of Voroshilovgrad, and heads North east to hook up with his far East lost tanks units.
Causing massive Real Estate ownership shift.

Now most of my Army and good troop too are cut off from supply. Including this its 4 more until MUD!!!!

German positions

Tank unit west of Tula now doomed. Another sacrifice.

He attacks south thru the land corridor West of Big V. Northern pincer. More cut off tanks now.

What a mess.

Although he will loose 2 tank regiments East of Big V..

OK

I am left wondering whether the 2 of you use psychedelic drugs when playing, hence the desire/need for everything to swirl round continuously, or tranquilizers to stave off nervous breakdowns? Our game will be more sedate - I take neither but would need both to play like TDV[X(]

Can you post screen showing dead units please? I would not presume to hazard a guess as to who's going to win, but I suspect that your unit losses may be your biggest problem

Turn 67 cacaucus

Post by BrianG »

Final action turn 67 down south. he attacks and I counter attack. I must hold positions.

His 3 stacks are strong but chance of breaking out poor with no armor to exploit.
