Napalm questions

Post by Coyote27 »

How much heat exactly do napalm missiles and flamers cause to their victims? Do flamers cause more at close range than from afar?

This should be in the manual in the weapons section. I think it was settled at 1.5 degrees per point of damage.

And no.

I didn't see it... but thank you. As long as they cause more heat to the enemy than to me I'm happy.

Hmm... flamers would do 10.5 heat... so if I could get 14 flamer hits at once, instant shutdown. :)

nah you'd prob push yourself into the redzone like that and cause your ammo to start exploding which would prob push you into shutdown and/or engine explosion

IMO use'em to push the enemy into their red heat zone and start causing there ammo to explode

from there its a piece of cake just watching the nme titan blow its self up from teh inside out......course if your nearby that could be a bad thing

EDIT:where did the expersion "piece of cake come from"?

ive no idea myself

1.8 C per point of damage. In WS NMs only do 1.8 per location hit.

I think the question was about the freeware. Is it still 1.8 per point of damage in the freeware?

Yep, otherwise I'd have said so. Only difference is the one I mentioned.
BTW, NM and FT ammo explosions do double normal damage, so they're pretty nasty for both sides.

Map type also determines the effectiveness of heat causing weapons. In hell these weapons are terrifying. In ice levels they are not.

I believe the expression `piece of cake` came from the tradition of having cake at the wedding celebration, this being a time when everything goes right. Hence the expression --`piece of cake.

Oh ya. I liked to have a heavy Titan in my squad that was fitted with napalm only, and a neuron blaster if there was available space. At s/m range this could really cause shutdowns fast. But it was definitely a support role only.
