How do you make the battle messages last longer.

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

How do you make the battle messages last longer.

Loving the game so far...

But the battle messages always disappear before I get to read them. How do I make them last longer?

Thanks.

While the combat(s) are resolving hit one of the numeric keys. Smaller the number, faster the speed. 5 or 6 should be slow enough.

welcome:)

Thanks. Rather than make another thread, I have a question about HQ distances. Is there a map mode that I can see HQ distances or an easy way to see what HQ goes with what unit?

select a hq, subordinate units highlight blue, red if out of supply. the higher hq will highlight orange.

see hotkey list from unit tab, top of map.

commanders report has some stuff about distance to hq

Thanks I am really enjoying this game. I think I am over my head though, but with turn based I can take my time.

Another question... I manually moved a rail repair unit and it no longer automatically repairs the rail anymore.

The other repair/construction units I did not move are all repairing fine. What can I do to make this unit auto repair again?

Thanks.

Somebody else just asked this same question. Let's wait awhile to see if the person who got the answer wants to chip in and give the answer. Better game with more participants. I'll answer tomorrow.

Meantime, very difficult game. Spend at least half your time browsing the forums and manual, updates and patches.

Updated manual is coming, and it will be great, dare to dream!

Enough with the editorial, you have missed one of the rail hexes, the rail line must be continuous, not just adjacent. Probably the one sw of Vilnius, everybody misses that one.

Delay is not the same as detail. I think delay can be set in preferences menu.

I have two more questions...

Is there a supply tutorial somewhere? I'm playing the Leningrad scenario and my pants have run out of fuel. I made sure the hq's are close enough but it might be because the rail head are too far away. How can I tell?

Second question... How do I put units in supporting defense reserve so they join defense battles?
