Disc drive markers

Post by carll11 »

so. I used disc drive markers as a title as I don't know the right lingo.

I dled MECS from Matrix to my base laptop drive. Updated etc.

I then copied the whole MECS folder to my external HD.

I started the game from the base LapTop drive, games runs.

I started the game from Ext drive, game runs.

I then copied the CSME folder from my Ext drive to my second laptop main drive, ( thats my 'thinking' or game rig, I use it to let the computer play its turn while I play another turn on another game on my base Laptop).

The game will not start without error on my Game rig, either from the ext drive, or the main drive. Yet it does form my base Laptop, where in I DLed it from matrix.

So, is there a marker or file embedded in the drive form the Main 'real' DL from Matrix? One that doesn't appear or embed if I try just copying the CSME folder to another Laptop drive? In short do I have to DL from matrix to a drive directly in order for the game to run?

I don't put my 'thinking game rig' on the net. And, I'd prefer not to...

heres what I get when I select a scenario and try and run the game on my game rig;
