A couple questions about the refit process between scenarios:

1) The Bessarabia Campaign GSASL rules divide eliminated MMC into two categories, depending on the cause of their removal: basically (there are a lot more cases) units eliminated "in combat" (CC, KIA, K) are permanently eliminated from the company OOB, while others are retained. Undoubtedly, not all casualties will be dead, but I think tracking what caused the removal of every single unit in TotH would require a lot of bookkeeping, slowing the game for little gain.
A simplified approach, to make life simpler for everyone, could be as follows: 75% of the casualties are permanently removed from the company OOB, 25% are retained.

2) Are any leaders generated because of Heat of Battle retained in the company OOB?
Yeah the eliminated units would require the extra bookkeeping. For now I will probably consider all eliminated as permanently "in combat" eliminated from the OOB. BUT with the refit you can get at least 4 full squads back and have a really good chance of getting all SW back (along with their crews) if they require one. For example you got all yours back along with 4 full squads, 2 of which should be Elite.

I am trying to carry over any HOB retains Leaders but will be going through the end game file to see exactly who still has what and stuff as far as Battle Hardened units and HOB leader.

I am still working on the next mission but am taking it slow to make sure I get them right. Also, holding off a little till the patch comes out so we are not caught upgrading mid-mission, etc.

The upcoming update will change the saved game file format, so make sure you guys finish your missions before you apply the game update.

In view of Peter's last statement, I think it's better we wait until the update is released (In the meantime, okiefire_ssl and I will have some R&R [;)]).

Well, why you two are enjoying yourself prepare yourself for the next mission, "Taking the Highway".

The good thing about trying to build out SASL missions as close to the wording as possible is that I am learning some neat tricks in TotH to try and make the AI do the stuff I want, kind of anyway.

Would you like to share some of those neat tricks? I think a dedicated thread about scenario design would be interesting.

Indeed it would be helpful to learn (and share) some tricks for scenario design. For now, I'll enjoy some R&R time with UP844. [:)]

Figured I'd post this for reference. It's the mission flow chart for the test GTotH game. Each commander will fight 3 missions (rounds). Mission #1 is on June 22, 1941, Mission #2 is on June 24, 1941, and Mission #3 is on June 26, 1941. The results from one mission will determine what your Company's follow on mission will be.

The perspective of facing a "Tank Attack" will certainly motivate us to "Take the Highway". I had enough trouble dealing with two BT-5s, I'm not eager to see a T-34 or KV from the wrong side of the gun [:D].

It's certainly not 'historical'. I just picked out some follow-on missions that were different to kind of mix things up and see if I am actually able to build the scenarios to a pretty good match from the SASL missions.

Continuing with this playtest, and for reference purposes I will now be posting the 2nd mission (scenario) text file for 2nd and 3rd Companies. Since Paullus is busy with playtesting and assisting Peter we will press on with what we have which are the next missions for UP844 and okiefire_ssl. The German offensive into the Russian Motherland in the vicinity of Kolno continues . . . .

Yeah, you don't want to be in that position with the only AT weapons you have are your 2 ATR's. [:D]
