The Italian corps, attacked from four sides, were simply overwhelmed, despite the Russians only rolling a 7.\

The Western Allies get an almost automatic attack against Nuremberg, +17, and then roll well, a 13.

When Nuremberg was taken, a Me 110E and a Macchi C.202 were destroyed.

The Russian attack northeast of Munich was only a +5, but roll a 13. There are no losses on either side, to the paratroopers intense relief, but the Russians take the hex. One defender retreats southwest, while the other flees through Munich into the mountains south of the city.

The US uses Clark to reorganize the 9 pt FTR, and the Russians reorganize a 6 pt bomber.

The CW uses an AMPH in the Red Sea to reorganize a CP in Aden, on the theory that this saves .05 pts of oil.

M/J Axis #7:
All of the Axis powers Pass
Turn end roll 2, turn ends. If they had known they would roll a 2, the Japanese would not have passed!

No partisans.

Almost all Allied naval forces in the Atlantic and Mediterranean return to base, heading for the Pacific and Indian Oceans.

The Japanese leave their airforce in the South China Sea at sea, because it would be unsupplied if it returned to land. There is something very strange about this. I didn't know anyone had airplanes with fuel tanks that would keep them airborne for four months!

Oil: Used/Saved Trade/Saved

Code: Select all

Ge: 2/0/0
 It: 0/0/0
Ja: 3/0/11 One CP left disorganized.
 Ch: 0/3
CW: 11 Argus and 12 combat value 1 range 2 cruisers left disorganized.
Fr: 1 Two CL's left disorganized.
 US: 14
 SU: 7
I am pleased to see that WiF correctly handled the Japanese oil situation, with their oil split into two different chunks, and some units having to use one, some the other, and the units at sea being able to use both.

I am even more pleased that both the CW and the US were able to use each other's oil, and the Free French.

No breakdowns.

The Russians scrap all three destroyed FTRs, a Yak-1, a Yak-3(VK105)and a La-7.

The Germans scrap a bunch of units, including a 1942 Gustav. It really doesn't make too much difference what.

The Japanese scrap an Oscar (5 pt range 5 FTR).

The CW does not scrap its one lost MECH.

The US scraps an SBD-5 CVP. (3-4, permanent size 2.)

The Germans scrap 9 FTR-2s from their force pool. They leave the Finns in the the force pool, as it is more likely that they will actually get them. They scrap an INF and a GAR.

It: 0+0, Retrain 3 pilots: INF, no build points saved;

J/A 44:
Russia increases trade agreement by one to the CW and signs a new agreement to France. CW gets 10 oil, France one.
Owing to the bug where MWiF insists on sending saved build points to the UK, rather than newly produced ones, the US stops sending build points to the UK. If I had been intelligent, I would have saved some in Europe.
France sends five build points to the UK, to make up for the lack of US build points.

J/A 44 Allied #1: Weather 5+1; F, F, F, St, F, F, no modifier, impulse advance 1.
CW land, Fr combined, Ch combined
US super-combined
SU land O-chit, Konev doubling.

The Chinese really wanted to take an air. However, I discovered that if the Chinese take an air, the Communists can not move. The rules do not make that clear, but according to an official ADG ruling, this is correct,.

The US moves major forces in to the China Sea, and a few invasion forces into the China Sea, in addition to shipping new units out from the West Coast and establishing escorts. A bunch of submarines head for the Japan coast and the Sea of Japan.

The French move one cruiser.

Here is a picture of the major sea areas after the US naval move:

South China Sea: Allies 9, Japan 1. No one finds anyone. It this roll had to happen anywhere, the Allies are glad it happened here.

Japan Coast: Allies 2, Japan 8. The Allied submarines use their surprise points to reduce Japanese damage to nothing, and proceed to obliterate the Sendai. Its purpose for being there was to maintain Japanese presence, slowing down Allied movement.

Sea of Japan: US 3, Japan 1. US subs obliterate a Japanese CP.

In the China Sea, the US currently greatly outnumbers the Japanese in the air, but the Japanese have significant reinforcements coming. The US finds the Japanese, rolling a 2 to Japan's 6, and elects to fight; the Japanese abort the battle after one round, losing a FTR and its pilot.

The second round is almost the same, although this time both side found each other, (US 3, Japan 4; there is a US CP in the zero box). This time a very bad Japanese NAV is destroyed. The third round, the US found the ocean, and the Japanese didn't even manage that (US 9, Ja 10).
