War Cabinet Fun.

Post by Major_Mess »

So I'm the process of testing out an old H2H Campaign that I've converted to ENH-FR standards and I figured that this would be a good time to play with the War Cabinet since I've just started testing the 12th node.

I'll focus on the Strategic Map.

Here's the write-up for this Node.
Quevy-le-Grand, Belgium - May 23, 1940*
*
Oberstleutnant, our forces have bypassed and surrounded a French formation in and around the villages of Quevy-le-Petit and Quevy-le-Grand, just north of the Belgian border with France.*
*
Your mission is to mop them up. We have infantry from the 1. Infanterie Regiment blocking the roads to the south. You'll deploy to the north of the pocket and attack. The defending forces are French and are known to have tanks with them. We know not how many.*
*
Get cracking!*

Attached below is the Strategic Map from my setup. I think I'll take a snapshot at the beginning and end of each turn.

cheers

Edit - embedding the pics is way better.

Where in the game is that?
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

What do you mean Matti?

The War Cabinet program is from a couple of threads below this one.

The node I'm trying this out on is an old H2H Campaign (Frontsoldat en Blitzkrieg) that I've made ENH-FR compatible, and that I'm testing right now.
Once I've gone through it I'll get a few people to test it out before I release it.

And that's as far as I can go.
When I try to add more saves in the program it locks up and pretends it's not responding ......

ERIK!!!!!!

I have the saved files if that helps.
I tried it a few times with the same result.

HALP!!

cheers

Hi Major,

It's really nice to see those big strategic maps.

I'm guessing it would be quite handy if warcab has a save or export function for the stratmap, no? [:)]

The map seems to be quite big with a lot of units, so it is certainly possible warcab is hitting some
limitation somewhere. If you send me your savegames and OOB files via PM I'll be more than happy
to take a look at it.

For the moment I am working on fixing the unit detection in warcab. It sometimes gets confused with unit
leftovers from previous battles. This can result in multiple units with the same formation/subformation
ID (for example two different AD0 units) or units which are obviously not used in the battle (for example
french units in a battle against the soviet union).

Erik
