Happy New Year - just under two hours to go here.

The Chinese choose whether to abort the Axis front fighter or bomber?

The Chinese Mohawk caused two Japanese aircraft to abort, but the Ki-27 was able to turn things around when it arrived on the scene. The Chinese fighter unit is destroyed (pilot is saved).

The program switches back to Europe for the first of the ground strikes.

The Stukas of StG1 and StG2 attack the defenders of the capital, Warsaw...

Initial sorties were wayward, but the Stuka pilots kept their composure.

Good night. I hope both Chinese and Polish have digged deep before ground strikes...

Back to Asia now and with the destruction of the Mohawk there are two units left in the hex. The Val goes in....

I selected four throws like a twat (Chinese not surprised [8|]) but the throws are taken in order anyway. One miss and one hit.

The Germans will do their movement and then I will send the game over to Orm to do his Italian/ Japanese thang.

The German plan for Poland involves 5 armies with the following objectives:

3rd Army - Destruction of the Pomorze Army northeast of Warsaw
4th Army - Destruction of the Modlin Army northwest of Warsaw
8th Army and 12th Armies - Destruction of the Karpaty Army southwest of Lodz
10th Army - tasked with taking the resource of Katowice and keeping at bay any interference that may come from the southeast and the cavalry corps.

As part of 4th Army operations, XXXV Infantry Corps is ordered to seize the port of Danzig. They find two units there - a destroyer flotilla and some merchant shipping.....

Both units manage to get under steam before the Infantry arrive. The air force unit patrolling in the Baltic tries to intercept the vessels but fail to locate them [Note - in the absence of instructions I place them in Plymouth with other ships].

Sorry but just went into the reverse AAR Allies thread by mistake - came out immediately. No excuse I went in through the main thread - the Allies one was above it and - still sleepy from the night before - clicked on the wrong one.

No worries. I did the same yesterday with my phone. I noticed my finger hit wrong AAR and I started pushing "back" button like crazy.

I do not have access to the detail of the Japanese moves however the main effort is clearly directed against central China.

Terauchi and his forces from Manchuria have started to move south.

Land Combat Declaration

Germany appears first and they announce three attacks against the targets previously identified - the Pomorze, Modlin and Karpaty armies.

In China, the target of Japan's one attack is the 1st Cavalry Corps east of Changsha. The odds are 7:1.

No HQ Support and no Ground Attack is ordered for any of the attacks. The Polish attacks are all automatic.

The Chinese must choose Assault or this too is automatic.

The attack by the Japanese was a success (5 rolled) and the 1st Cavalry is destroyed.

Orm what are your plans for moving into the hex, rebase etc?

Air re-base:

The Bf-109 of JG2 rebases to Cologne and joins Luftflotte 3 in preparation for expected Franco-British offensive measures.

The Italians rebase their Z.501 squadrons to Trapani

Reorganisation

No reorganisation for the Germans

Does Umezu want to reorganise the Japanese aircraft?
