USA Isolationists

Post by parra »

I keep getting messages that the isolationists in the USA are not happy and keep telling me to return US units
home, and keep move the mobilization backwards. All US units are on US soil or in US ports. What am I missing?

Is the US DD your were told you can 'use' out looking for subs? I've just run into this myself apparently there is a mysterious line/limit you can't cross with it. [:-]
Sure would be nice to know where it is.

This may be a bug.
I got hit with this again, and the only unit out of the states at the start of the turn was the blimp I had in Greenland (which got sent home during the turn).
I'm going to re-post this in the bug forum.

Hi

I'm sorry but from looking at the script, the wrong position is being targeted and therefore if there are two US naval units on the map*, this unfortunately has a 35% chance of happening.

It will not fire if any units are further east of 187,92, nor if any are placed in LOOPS, so to avoid it happening further in your game I would suggest sending at least one naval unit via the LOOP off the US east coast to the Red Sea or Persian Gulf. They could then stay there and be sent back to the North Atlantic if desired when the US enters the war.

Alternatively, or additionally, if this has fired a lot then at an appropriate moment your opponent could declare war on the USA in order to bring the game back into line with the correct timeline, i.e. where it would have been had the script not fired unnecessarily, as sending ships out to 29 along the Y axis should be safe, but no further.

*Note that transports count as naval units, so be careful if preparing expeditionary forces too.

Thank you Bill. Will editing the script to use the correct hex coordinate also fix the problem?

It won't for any ongoing games, only in new games started with the fix.

Thank you Bill, as annoying as it is, I took your advice and made sure all US ships are in the LOOP or off map. New reinforcement ships are brought onto the map one at a time and moved to the Red Sea or Persian Gulf until we enter the war.

Kind Regards,
