Air Field Supply Priority

Post by BK6583 »

If an airfield is otherwise unoccupied with no support personnel, do I need to manually set the priority to '0'. I ask because when I hit the '8' key, depots show a red supply line to those unoccupied air fields.

You can set it to -1 for automatic.

I get that for support personnel. What I'm referring to is the supply priority for the air base.

Sorry, I misread. Could you try to rephrase your question? What do you mean you need to?

Ok - After using air transfer to shift ac to different air bases I have a lot of air bases w/o any ac on them and with support levels also at '0'. They still however have supply priorities set at levels like 2,3, or 4. Since they no longer have any ac or support personnel do I have to go back and manually reset their supply priorities to '0' or does it matter if they're now 'empty'?

So back to original question - given the previous post - do I need to reset these 'empty' airbases back to '0' supply priority or does it really matter since they're 'empty' if their supply priority is still set at say, 2,3, or 4?

If they are empty the airfield should have almost no personnel so the ammount of supplies it uses up should be negligible in any case.

I don’t know the answer to your question, it’s a good question. I was hoping someone who did would answer it. If you decide you need to manually set the supply priority for each of the empty bases, I think you can do it fairly easily in the commander’s report.

Go to the Commander’s Report and;

Choose the “Units” tab.

On the bottom choose “Clear Unit Display Filters”

“Unit Formation Type Filters” select “None”

“Unit Formation Type Filters” select “AirBase”

On the bottom right side toggle “Air Base” filter to “Empty”

On the top right side “Functions” select “Supply Priority”

Set the priority to zero.

If you are expanding any airbases that are empty you need to go back to the airbase filter and select “Expand” and reset the supply priority.

empty bases do at best require very limited freight deliveries so supply priority maybe left unchanged
