I know Artilery attack helps. Any other ideas? How many units should be used for artillery attacks?

Aircraft's "Ground" attack against the location will target and disrupt a specific unit to the point of being totally useless.

NO KIDDING! Grrrrrrr:mad:   Is there any way around that ---air units only bombing the same unit, over and over, but ignoring the rest???

If you make a ground attack, the air units will attack an infantry or engineer unit. However, if you make an air base attack, a support unit such as a base force will take the hits. This can be very effective.

Any units of the following types are subject to damage/disruption during Airfield or Port attacks.

HQ, AA, ART, ENG, CD

These are all considered support troops so are exposed during the attack (either from a command standpoint, actively fighting against the aircraft, or attempting to repair the damage as it happens).

INF/ARM units are not exposed and must be targeted directly via the Ground attack option.

While I am not real sure I agree with HQ units being outside their bunkers when the bombs start falling, all the other units being exposed makes perfect sense although the levels of damage tend to be a bit extreme at times.
