mega larger scenarios

Post by Lav2566 »

Besides Europa, anyone know of any other super scenarios that employ PO? What I see most of the big ones are Play by email. I would imagine designing a scenario like Europa is daunting and time-consuming.

I've attached the latest version of D21 here below
It's what I'm playing in my restarted AAR. It's version
4.45 and represents the very latest version.

I don't own the scenario myself and so I have no publishing rights
so to speak. To release it to the wild will take one of the
scenario designers to update the place where you last got a copy
of it. Unless it came with the patch or something like that.
The point is the owners of this bad boy have a say in that event.

EDIT: Here's a link to the old version. This is the place to post
the update.

Oh bleeding hell, just started a new game with the one they released a few weeks back with the Bulgarians locked in place until Sevastopol taken. Has much changed in this version Larry, or enough for me to start again, again!!

If it's FITE2, They are still not released. Makes sense if you think about the Soviets looking to invade Bulgaria. I think that's the reason anyway. Larry and I are currently playing this scenario. I like it. Now I should get back to it before Larry yells at me for not working on my turn[:D]....GP

I'm only on turn six and so I haven't noticed any differences so far. But I'm looking.

Take your time Brian dude. I've got my D21 game to work on. Plus there's few AARs about it.

I will upload the latest version of D21 shortly to the Mod Thread. There are even some more changes since this version.

TPOO: First of all I'd just like to say that I'm glad you are putting in the effort in making this great scenario better but when do you think a 'definitive' version will be ready? I've already started 2 new games since the new release due to you updating them and don't really want to keep doing it every other week! If you can give us all a rough estimate then we could leave off until you think its done for a while.

A scenario this large is never going to be "done" unless the maintainer walks away without a successor appearing to take over. Short of a game breaking bug being found, a newer version shouldn't mean restarting. AFAIK the most serious issue with D21 since TOAW4 has came out was the Bulgarians releasing early. That's hardly a game breaker because 1) you can just not use them if you don't capture Sevastopol before the intended end of it being the release trigger, and 2) even if you do use them anyway a handful of squishy infantry divisions aren't going to have a major impact on the war.

Because TOAW IV was in development for almost 4 years no one has really play tested D21 on a scale required to get proper balance. Now that there are multiple AAR's being run it becomes apparent that some changes were needed to one correct things that could not have been anticipated before the relief and to update the PO programming. The PO preforms much better under TOAW IV than III and so updates were necessary. This next update will be the last for awhile until I can get through 1942 and 1943 on further testing. That will probably be a bit. Thank you for your support. Rick.
