EiA update v1.08.07

Post by nope »

Hi,

Recently bought the PC version of EiA again, just after I got news from the latest update.
So, I should have an older copy somewhere, I played to enjoyment with update 1.08.07.

In installing i didn't notice any big or obvious errors.
BUT
I seem to not find the light fleets&ships, as well as transports in v1.22.02 (for setup at least)

Cant find any mention of such a change

Cant find old version updates, they all direct to v1.22.02

Q:
-Where to find v1.08.07?
or
-How to google for dummies or search on forums properly for naval changes (I'm not much for change in general)
and back again
-How to obtain update v1.08.07

Cheers

Welcome! You do not need v1.08.07. V1.22.02 is a comprehensive update to the original installation. You should only need to do a clean install, verify compatibility is set to WinXP Service Pack 2, reboot, and then apply the update.

There are two different 1805 campaigns now. One is a classic Empires in Arms version and the other is the alternate Empires in Harm version. EIA has only heavy ships, while EIH has heavy/light/transport ships. The updated User Manual has lots of good information and new material at the end. It's worth reviewing if you've been away. Enjoy!

Hi Bill,

Thx for the reply.
Yes, I figured some more stuff out by now -partly overlooked and wrong search commands.

I'll check the manual after updating adobe and do a reinstall of the game v1.22.02.
Looking forward to getting to grips again with the game. Maybe join my 1st PBEM later on, quite nice to see all the activity on the forum.

And thank you&the team for the continued effort in the game (and ty matrix Games? -is it MG supported or is this your own time&effort and are you guys being amazingly dedicated fans?).

Anyway, much appreciated!

Cheers

Also saw, no need for adobe update to read manual, after your update I found the easy to open pdf's -awesome.
Generals HQ, I don't even believe i got in the their spamfilter but, it's showed I can apply through their 'contact us'form. And I will (not anytime soon though but like this game, it's a about persistence).

Again, thank you for your zealous&continued efforts.

Aye, this is a hobby project effort on my part as a volunteer. I am still in touch with Marshall Ellis but he's still too busy with real life. One day, he assures me, he intends to get back to EIA...

For PBEM, check out Generals HQ. They have a few games going and are looking for players to fill in. I am in one game myself and its proceeding smoothly, roughly a game month every couple weeks so you only have to play your phase every few days. So it's not time intensive, allows you to ease into it, and you can play solitaire in between to catch up. You should find the bug fixes, improvements, and enhancements have helped the game a lot since v1.08.07 days!

Hi Garry,

'I can apply through their 'contact us'form'
That's what I saw when I read something of difficulties in registering/if I have rego(?)issues.
I did not use the contact-us form yet.

After the holiday season I'm looking forward to join/take over an AI/ump(s).
And maybe even join a Stellaris game (in the failed register attempt I called it a scam (PDX ext.beta/2.0) but I like(d) the earlier version a lot with ccomds/StarWars mods).

Hi Garry,

In your thegeneralshq org login and register tab, it says 'Or go to the CONTACT US menu top right hand side if you are having rego issues' under the register button.
With me after pressing 'register', it kept/went in a loop/pending symbol for a while, stopped, and then nothing(?) changed/coudn't tell if I failed in a required field when creating my account, might not even be anything on your end, just me being a reel (non)geek.
Just saw that line when checking the site and after a couple failed attempts without indications (no specific message, systems reports/warnings or any kind) in registering, I figured I could come back to the contact-us.

Cheers
