To rest from my big kiev 43 scenario I decided to see what I had learned so far seeing how time could be set a short scenario from scratch. I had some notes about the battle of Soltsy in July 1941, an interesting battle lasted only few days, and this is the result after a couple of hours (perhaps more)last weekend.
- 1) On july 15 1941 Manstein's LVI Mot.Korp falls into an ambush along the only road leading to the town of Soltsy.
-2) The Soviet AI work very historical, and the spearheads of Brandengerger's 8Pz.Division were surrounded, while Jahn's 3Mot.Division on the left flank were fixed. Manstein HQ with all his staff is on the center along the road.
-4) Manstein decide to abandon Solty. The right flank is still uncovered because the 3ss Totenkopf division is far behind slowed by many retreating Soviet infantry units (Totenkopf commander, General Eicke was wounded by a mine on july 6, and the new appointed commander,General Keppler, has some problems reorganizing division movements).
Screen says German side needs 20 VP for major victory but I can't find 20 VP on map.

There is no such thing as a historically accurate strategy game. Every game stops being historically accurate from the very first move player do. First unit that moves ahistorically, first battle with non-historical results, mean we ride in unknown.
