That would be awesome.

Albeit the main problem of the manual is the sheer amount of information the game need you to know.

True, but that problem can only be overcome if the manual is complete and correct!

Thanks for formatting the manual in MS Word. I find it so much easier to navigate. Great initiative.

That said, what is the long term plan? Is there a team committed to incorporating changes for the foreseeable future or are we looking at a deadline for accepting suggestions?

Also, I suspect that few people have read the entire manual, mostly just the parts where they need information. Are there specific paragraphs which readers find confusing and would benefit most from word-smithing? If people are going to take the time to write suggestions, it would be good to optimize their time and hit the biggest problem areas first.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Steve and I have finished working together on this project. I am done formatting and editing this document. If anyone has expertise in Word or would like to take up the mantle I suggest you go ahead.

Attached is all my edits, there were many spelling and grammatical errors that have been fixed since 1.00, and I believe 98% of all the formatting errors are corrected as well. I also took the liberty to re-write parts of the document, in particular the PBEM++ system was confusing and there was an Annex that was stuck in the middle of the document that did not belong there so I moved it to where the rest of the Annexes are. There was some other formatting issues with the original as well which I sorted out. I have also added in/updated/corrected or fixed the default Word Table of Contents and the side bar navigation and also added/fixed all the hyperlinks in the document.

For me the whole point was to create a consistent, corrected, formatted and hyperlink manual. I believe that is what is reflected in my edits with version 1.02.

Lastly I also included many copies of the same document with various styles applied so that folks could select the one that most appealed to them visually.

For navigation I hope this screen shot helps explain things:

Image

For the hyperlink navigation the first step is to find one in the document and follow these basic instructions:

When you click on that hyperlink it should take you to the section in reference like so:

I learned a lot working on this project with Steve and alot about TOAW in general.

Hope you find something you like in the zip file. If there is errors I may correct them but I am pretty much done with reformatting and working on this.

PS I used Microsoft Word 365 for this project.

cheers

edit: added zip file.

Just downloaded the zip file and looked it over. Awesome! Are they all the same content, just different formatting?

Yes I used the same content but different formatting so folks could choose the one they liked.

How do you mean?

If I open up one of the Word docs, and then I hit cntrl + F it pops up a Navigation menu on the left side of the document. Next click on the Headings tab on the far left and then you'll see all the headings listed below. Now just click on one of the headings below and it will automatically take you to that place in the document. Easy peasy no?
