Smaller Battles

Post by kam99 »

Two questions if I may please:

1. Are there any plans to develop the Scenario Editor to make it possible to select a main force smaller than a Company in size?

2. What are the smaller (and hopefully) therefore more newbie friendly battles?

Many thanks.

We probably won't make a major change to the scenario editor for The Bloody First but I will add it to the suggestion list. It is possible to have smaller forces if you edit the scenario data file itself, and info on the editable file formats is something we plan to include (along with a map editor) in the content creation update that is in the works.

Some of the smaller battles are: Sbiba Town, Hill 350, Gellafarello, Gangi, and Balleroy. First Blood is a fairly good introduction to the core infantry combat part of the game as well.

great information to the data file stuff. that path leads to having more fine control for sure.

a simple and no file manipulation to fewer units. Setting "elite" to both sides appears to be half as small as regular in general. I use it for h2h operations in tbf default to keep the connection clean on lower powered systems too.

Having said that, file manipulation can lead to fine control and that is a plus for being able to mix up the troops n challenges more.

Changing the Difficulty setting changes unit quality as well as quantity.

The Scenario Editor is just file manipulation with a GUI. Other than editing for map control and objectives, using Notepad in conjunction with the workbook is both quicker and more powerful.
