Axis Liberation Movement(Almeron)

Post by battlevonwar »

1939:

"We have noted in recent years with the concessions of the British and French a weakness and lack of Strong/Unified Government within Europe. The British seem busy counting their fading Empire's Possessions. The French are locked in insecurity and an unstable Leadership. We feel that the Axis could bring prosperity and stability in a mutual Utopia for all the Confused Folks. Therefore an agreement is drawn up with Stalin and Poland is Sledgehammered by the might of Germany. We do not feel that the Soviet Union, a Nation much like our own would be opposed nor a threat. They are our friends!"

Almeron will now face the brunt of the Axis Juggernaut with the Patch to give him a tiny bit of of an edge. He has chosen this desperate pathway to victory and we applaud him for his bravery. Panzers and heads will roll till the German Army is Vacationing on the Black Sea!

'39-'40 Fall and Winter:

Poland fought hard and held on longer than usual. The Netherlands capitulated with French and British Air Fighting hard over their skies in exchanges with German Planes for domination.

The British and French assured Denmark support and lent them 2 units that were swiftly devoured and the French Navy appears to have been cut off in the Baltic due to this journey.

Meanwhile the French and British build up on their Border with increasing ferocity. This will be no simple conquest.

March 29th 1940:

First break in the weather all year and before Armor thrusts countless air strikes into the heart of Belgium unleashed. Stuka Sirens blaring and Panic sets in the Allied Forces on the front lines. Meanwhile the French/RAF Fighters meet us again to fight duels with Me-109s. Nothing gained on either side there, even fight in the skies. The Hurricanes, Dewoitines make a good showing of themselves but Brussels/Antwerp now held firm in Axis clutches. It appears the Allies have a defense in depth strategy for France! Soon to be posted...

Allies hammer the U-boat Campaign as a joke. We shall have to recall our Submarines likely for it's a no secret that there is no defense from the Mastery of British Strike Aircraft and Escort Vessels. Less than a dozen ships sunk in 6 months of warfare there for an equal/+ cost in U-boats. Our men on those vessels demand Land Mine Clearing Jobs over U-boat service. As it's a 50/50 survival rate!

Italy begins to see the writing on the wall, awaiting the French Defeat to enter this fray.

1940 July:

French and British together have contributed everything into the defense of France. The Germans are grinding hard against each river line and dug in group of corps but slowly and assuredly arriving closer to the Capitol. Bloody cost though...

Great to see another AAR - I am always looking for new ways to play the game and the AARs are a great source to learn something.

The Battle for France:

We include 4 Close Air, Extra Armor/Mechs but the British have called upon reserves from Egypt and fully fight with the BEF in the North of France creating a Southern French Front and a Northern British Front leading to Paris. A virtual Kill Zone. Though only losing 1 land Corp during this fight the casualties for the Axis are quite atrocious and the whole fight was a massive grind into the depths of France.

Casualties are listed and I went cautious and slow that's why the fall of France barely left time for Greece to Fall to Axis forces and Norway in 1940. I have to admit this is one of the most 'Grindy' situations I've faced. Weather wasn't optimal for me mind you in 1940 itself. Plus Denmark distracted me a little as well as a Turn 3 Poland. At this point the British did suffer some air losses but I suspect that they will make up for that and they have not let my Raiders work as I would like. The Battle of the Atlantic is rather one sided. I go out, sit for 1 turn of raiding and then go back to heal up. There is a bit of necessary monotony in this. I considered taking both England and Egypt together as I had the strength to do both in 1940. Though I figured the weather would have gotten me in England but Egypt and England may still happen in 1941.

We shall see how we feel about troop displacements. Aside there has just been a slow buildup, wound licking and preparation for the next phase which is inevitable I think at this point.

1941:

One of my most impressive Armor/Mech/Cas-Centric Builds. West is and South well fortified...meanwhile

Germany and Italy gathered with a small donation from Romania and Hungary to Invade Russia in May. Weather was a delaying force. I fortunately had time to perfectly arrange my units and my opponent held well on the riverline/marsh/city/rough terrain hexes. There are a couple of breakthroughs and it's only "July," at this current point. Soviet Air Power was decisive initially, but has been checked temporarily.

Leningrad down to Kiev line, Odessa holds Still!

I am feeling that at the moment I have the momentum but the Allies are really supplying the differential in Lendlease. I am not sure what my opponent will pull out of bag of tricks but I'm sure I will see a strong move anywhere/anytime. I am not vulnerable now but time wears the Axis and time strengthens the Allies.

(I have learned a great deal vs my last games as Axis where I had no clue about how to manage my resources it shows here, plus techs, reinforcements)

Game is resigned by opponent to due to personal reasons. Unfortunately... GG up until most costly France Campaign I'd ever seen.
