End of October-39

Not that much to report. Poland lasted 2 turns and Denmark surrendered on Turn 3. Tigercub waited with taking out The Netherlands in September but got a Cold turn now in October and invaded. France took Luxemburg on turn 1. Italy seems to want to devour Greece at some point.

Jan 1940

Germany declared war on Belgium in December in snow and with help of rivers and weather the Belgians defended well so I have been able to garrison Belgian cities with British and French units also the French corps in Luxemburg is defending well fending of a few attacks.

Some actions in the Atlantic. I dont remember the losses yet but I post it later.

March 1940

Lost Belgium when I switched garrison from WDF to a French corps that immediately got kicked out of Brussels. In return I managed to maul a German arm corps who will be a few turns away from returning to service. Hold a little bit of Belgium and Luxemburg still and wait for the summer.

The battle of the Atlantic is not too bad so far. Managed to sink (not sing [:)]) the Scharnorst and damage another ship and the subs annoying but so far under control (I hope [:)])

May 1940

French units are folding as usual but I am still satisfied with the situation. Still hold all French cities and shattered one arm corps and sunk one sub with two lucky CV hits.

July 40

Paris fell first turn of July and focus switches for now to the Mediterranean.
Battle of the Atlantic in both games I feel the subs are doing so so but they do inflict a bit of damage.

August 40

All action in the Med. Germany landing in the Middle east and invading Greece. Situation difficult to tell but there are some good British units in Africa/Mid East and at least for now the Allies have Air superiority. We have a bug I can´t go through the Suez from the Red Sea but it hasnt hampered me any yet really. Think Tigercubs invasion of Greece better then mine but now a Greek unit might have temporarily cut off the spearheads advance. Not sure if supply goes over the water/river in Greece.

There have been some naval action in the easten Med as well with the British so far a little bit ahead in damage inflicted so content with that

I don´t really see too much shift to the East still a fair amount of airforce in France and units so not sure what Tigercubs plans are [:)].

September 40

Some development in the Med. There was a German arm corps in Haifa for a while but it seems to have returned from where it came giving me some hope that the Axis will retreat out of the Middle east. Further west the Axis invade Vichy North Africa. The British had 2 units on ships in Gibraltar ready to go to England or the Mid east depending on circumstances and now they were sent to Oran and Alger.

Greece surrendered.

German navy out raiding in the Atlantic. Most of the British navy is in the Mediterranean so they might cause quite a bit of damage.

Unfortunately this game had to end because of the corrupted save files and this game for some reason could not be saved.
But we have started a new one so I think I just go on with the new game in this thread.

A bit sad but anything can happen in love and war [:)]

End of October 1939

We restarted the game. Pretty close to the old one. France got Luxemburg. Germany got a cold turn in October and took Denmark and the Netherlands. Some fighting in the air. In the Atlantic 7 merchants for 0 Subs so good start there for the Axis.

Dec 1939

Calm as usual. Germany took Luxemburg. In the Atlantic though the Allies are off to a very good start. French and English navy raided the iron ore and sank a lot of merchants. Not sure what I think about that maybe a house rule to let the Germans have the ore or maybe the game is designed that Germany should not have any resources from Sweden during the winter. On top of that a landbased British bomber got lucky and sank one sub unit. In total 10 subfactors for 14 merchants. Not sure but maybe subs need a little buff somehow. Still feels like the British can skip building merchants and build up its other forces a little too fast.

Feb 1940

No much happening. The Germans tried to attack through the Maginot line but the defending division held on.

This game too is unfortunately finished. Tigercub wanted a break from Warplan so he wanted to resign.
