TOS:WS available in Finland

Post by juppu »

I had been trying to get my hands on the game for some time with no luck, until I noticed it in the netstore of Buldog (www.bdog.fi/netstore). It's a bit difficult to get some games in smaller countries without a credit card for ordering aboard. I ordered a copy and I'm hoping to receive it soon. Good shooting to all of you.

Will do. :)
DNA-Internet wrote: Titans alike battlemechs

U.S. guerilla publisher Matrix Games' game Titans of Steel: Warring Suns appears in Europe by the british publisher Just Play apparently in this month -- and it's looking promising.

The huge warmachines made familiar to many by Microsoft's Mechwarrior games, among others, rumble in Titans of Steel: Warring Suns in a strategy game format, tough mostly for licensing reasons they appear somewhat different. The basis is similar however: in the distant future four races battle for the mastery of the galaxy, and the implements of war are the warmachines weighing tens of tons, the Titans.

The players command their machines and try to destroy their opponents with diverse weapons. Combat may be conducted from both long and short ranges, even with massive fists. Titans can designed by yourself, or you can choose to use some of 150 predesigned war-robots. The machines themselves are quite complicated and are composed of altogether 68 different internal systems, which may be modifed by yourself -- or which can be damaged in the heat of the battle. There are 32 of different weapons systems.

Multiplayer mode is available for four players and scifi war may be waged via hotseat, LAN or in the Internet.
Great game. I'm glad it's being noticed in the Finnish press.

Got the game. It took three weekdays to arrive. Nice to know that it's also available at Stockmann. The price in Stockmann seems to be 36,90 euros whereas Bulldog netstore carries it with 32 euros plus 5 euros for postage (when paying with internet bank account).

And the game... Thanks a lot. This is what I was waiting for. Too bad it's such a nice weather outside. I'm missing just one thing: higher screen resolution. It would be nice to play huge maps with less need to scroll.

Finnish game magazine called Pelit (Games) had a small string of text about TOS. All praise and a wish for importers to import the game. Now that it is on the shelves, it would be nice to get a real review too.
