Also this month, partisans in Lublin cut the rail connection.

Italy builds 4 landings ships and sets Reinf./Upgrade to 500.
By now I'm regretting buying 2 paratroopers (it's a new experiment),
but we'll work with it.

Germany builds a large corps and supply trucks (1 x 10).

You said, "Italy needs another air transport but cannot yet afford one. I don't like that they
are sitting at 99% manpower, but at the moment nothing can be done."

Doesn't that mean your stockpile of manpower is full? That's a good thing, right? In my game, when I purchase a unit that number goes down and then slowly goes back to 99% if I don't purchase another for awhile.
"Gentlemen, when the enemy is committed to a mistake we must not interrupt him too soon."

Manpower full is bad. It means you don't get any added manpower. "Lost" manpower, if you will.

Turn 13: February 16, 1940

U-boats sink another 6 merchants! I've never had remotely this much success with submarines
in any other game.

We take a gamble and turn back on the iron ore route, let's see if we can sneak in some resources!

Germany builds an interceptor. A bit random since it won't be operational until August, but I
want a total of 6 interceptors by 1941.

Italy's economy is fairly small, next we'll want a few mountain corps:

I am about to start my first pbem as the Allies; so I hope an uber-uboat bug hasn't crept into the system somehow.

From what I can tell playing solo the enemy doesn't know which convoys have been turned off or on; is that correct?

Correct, the enemy cannot know if you have disabled a convoy route.

Turn 14: March 1, 1940

U-boats sink 5 merchants. We lose 8 merchants on the iron ore route,
time to turn it off for good!

Germany builds 40 landing ships and one large corps.

Our u-boats are low on supply and head to port.

Turn 15: March 15, 1940

Allied high command seems upset about our u-boats.
Good, let them spend resources on escorts and new merchants.

Our u-boats head out for more raiding.

Germany builds yet another large corps.

Turn 17: April 12, 1940

Germany gets assault and anti-tank tech. Interceptor tech moves to 41.
All German production goes to upgrades while manpower sits at 99%.

Our u-boats don't raid anything, is the southern Atlantic route off?

Italy buys a small corps.

Turn 18: April 26, 1940

U-boats sink 6 merchants, but actually take 2 step losses.
They are recalled for repairs. I won't send them out again until
we have 41 tech.

All German production goes to upgrades (mislabeled "Upkeep" in the game).
I would really have liked to see different values for upkeep and reinforcements.

The 1st Panzer with heavy armor arrives.

Since this is hopefully the last turn of inclement weather, let's take a look at
the German and Allied deployments.

Much like in our previous game, SillyFlower does not like deploying the BEF to France.
This is good news, as the conquest of France will be easier.
And this is bad news, as SeaLion will be all but impossible.

I'm honestly winging it when it comes to my deployment. For some reason I am highly uncomfortable
with the assault on the Benelux. I can never seem to get it quite right.

You were unlucky not to get a single clear/cold weather turn in either March or April.

And the u-boats have been lucky. Long term it evens out.

Turn 19: May 10, 1940

The weather finally gets better and we declare war on the Netherlands.

But before we get to that let's cover some minor points:
-Italy gets Assault, Anti-Tank and Warship techs.
-Germany mobilizes the 2nd Panzer and a large corps.
-German u-boats are undergoing repairs and in 27 days they should be ready for upgrades.

The attack on the Netherlands goes really well with few casualties,
and the question is should we attack Belgium right away or wait a turn?

We decide that speed is more important than safety and declare war on Belgium.
Unfortunately the initial attack does not go too well, and we attach Engineers
to the 1st Panzer.

It's not easy going but the 1st and 2nd Light panzer then fight their way to
Brussels. To have any chance of taking the city this turn we give the 1st Light Panzer
engineers too.
