Strikte Tutorial #4

After creating a land strike and assigning the two harriers to it I have to wait for the planes go into taxi state before the route is generated by the application. Only then I'm able to see the route and can change it.

Is there a way create the route for the mission inside the mission editor (strg-f11)? Right now I have to do this:
1) Create the mission
2) Wait for like 1-2 ingame minutes
3) Select the a/c section thats waypoints must be modified
4) Modify the route

I want to omit step 2 somehow.

I imagine it will be highly complicated in a more complex scanrio where I have to manage several routes simultanously.

It's obvious that I'm doing it wrong. But what exaclty am I missing?

Not at this time. Right now waiting that 1-2 minutes is the only option for pre-planned courses.

I believe what you describe is part of the larger 'strike planner' which has been the subject of many discussion here.

At the risk of opening a can of worms I won't go into the detail, but your wish is a valid one and has been expressed before. Currently, you're doing it right and some day that option may exist.

One option you have is to turn off the option allows 'off-axis attacks' so that the mission generates a straight line from base to target. But the steps are the same.

I think part of the issue is that the mission editor has to create a flight path that stays within range constraints of the assigned aircraft. If either the base or the target have potential to move during the mission setup, the AI has to wait until the flight is ready to take off to know it's path will be valid.
