Soon to be followed by ... "EB has it in MyTown, USA ..." and "I drove 70 miles and crossed two state lines to purchase mine" ...

Well, I got my copy already. :)

---

I think the only game I ever purchased the very first day it showed up on the shelves was Falcon 4.0 {mainly just to be part of the whole experience}. Then, I only had to wait another four years and two PCs later for the game to actually be playable. :)

{Of course, HTTR is going to be playable out of the box and run decently on the majority of PCs currently in use.}

I personally checked my mailbox this morning and was surprised not to find anything that looks like a AA:HTTR box.
What do you mean by "you have to order it first" ? :confused:

I'm debating still. Money's a bit tight this month and I had been excited about this game because I like the concept of real time/orders applied to a level above Combat Mission's granularity. I think though that I'll wait to see how the AI appears in the game, read some reviews on it. This isn't to say that I might not just jump on it when it first comes out, but for this game, given it's not PBEM, the AI will be a pretty big deal for me.

I'm definitely buying this one :) I played the Red Devils demo and it was a lot of fun, a bit limited in sope [the game not the demo] but this one i won't pass. I sure hope there will be more to come like, Stalingrad, Kursk, Ardennes Offensive, Normandy - more Armour battles or campaigns :)

Ok, so I pre-ordered it and then got an odd message from Digital River that it was out of stock. Hasn't even shipped yet, right? Anyhow, I'm on the bandwagon of those waiting for it.. Too interesting a game it sounds like to miss out on it.

I just learned of this game from an ad on Dunnigan's Strategy Page. I wrote the victory conditions for SPI's Highway to the Reich 2nd Edition, and have a story about that:

The other 2nd edition playtesters and I attended the opening of the movie, A Bridge Too Far, in San Francisco. The movie showed a map of the British drop zone at one point. I jumped up in the audience and yelled, "That's it! The recon battalion aborted!" Everyone stared at me, and Tom Hayakawa replied, "Yeah, you're right, now sit down and shut up. We'll try that when the movie's over."

We dashed to Steve Spoulous' apartment (Sergeant Spoulos in the first edition of Squad Leader) and ran the HWTR 1st Airborne scenario, but had its recon battalion land in its planned drop zone. This time Frost's whole brigade got into Arnhem. And were eventually wiped out - it just took longer.
