Enemy ZOC & Freight

Post by davbaker »

Hi,
I can see in the manual that Enemy ZOC blocks strategic movement through a hex, couldnt find any mention of freight.
Just wanted to confirm that it blocks freight also, so rail stays permanently Yellow and Leningrad slowly starves [:(]

Thanks

Freight uses strategic movement on the rail lines but can be transported by trucks off rail. So freight movement through enemy ZOCs has to be by trucks.

IIRC, freight can move into a hex in a ZOC, it may even be able to then move out to another if not ZOC to ZOC, but I'm not 100% sure of that. If you attach a save at the start of a Soviet turn I can check out whether the northern port is getting anything. I'm interested in knowing if it is possible.

Thanks,
Took me quite a few turns to notice.
The old issue of Depot view showing a green 'underutilised rail line' tricked me into thinking some freight was getting through.

It wont let me upload a save (even zipped) as it 2,227kb which is >2,000 limit
Sure I've down this before, what have I forgotten?

Looks like nothing is getting through by rail. I know it can ship into a depot adjacent to the enemy, but looks like it won't go any further. I see Osinovets has some freight but other than that just a handful of freight points are moving over lake Ladoga. Once Osinovets runs out, there won't be anything left for the Leningrad units.

Thanks for looking into that.
Hoping I can possibley shift that unit once it gets a little colder.
First game I had no real issues holding those hexes, AI didnt really attack.
This game the AI has decided it doesnt want that freight getting through and constantly pushes me back.
