Chancellor Gorkon to Captain James T. Kirk:
You don't trust me, do you? I don't blame you. If there is to be a brave new world, our generation is going to have the hardest time living in it.
Since fighters have sunk a lot of ships during the Pacific war, I was wondering if it would be possible to add some naval air values for Fighter Bombers starting 1943 advancement level?
Something like:
1943 - 1 naval air point
1944 - 2 naval air points
1945 - 3 naval air points
Fighter Bombers only.

And, for Allies only, replace "Kamikaze" with something like "Dive Bomber" with a bonus like "2x naval-air" for example.
Perhaps "2x naval air" is a bit too strong by the way... Alvaro, I am sure you will find out. [:)]

I agree with a 1943 buff but I would like to see the range improved to simulate the use of drop tanks by P-47s and 4FUs. In game, I found the Fighter Bomber to be effective early on but not worth the cost of research late in the game.
A stuka can fly a lot of times being close to the battle field.
A P-47 with drop tanks going long distance can't fly as many sorties. Sitting in that cockpit is tiresome for the pilot.
