So, just started. New player.

I'm 77 pages into the manual, just sitting with an open Intro 1 scenario to test out what I read.

It says press "8" to see supply connections. It doesn't seem to do anything at all? Do I have to be beyond turn 1?

no it should produce a series of red, blue and white lines such as the image on p. 131 of the manual, basically shows you schematically how your supply net functions

Railway Bombing

Post by Hardradi »

I was testing out bombing railways and noticed a discrepancy between the results on the Air Execution Phase Summary screen and the on map battle results. They are consistently different by a factor of around 4. I am not sure why this would be, also I cannae see a reference to it in the manual. Is this something to do with the rail interdiction lasting more than one turn (I think it might be 4 or 5)?

Thank you for the response, but sadly as I stated earlier, it does not.

Yep it will only show once you reach T2 and have had a logistics phase and freight has moved.

If Soviets lose Oranienbaum, do they retreat back to Kronstadt and/or Leningrad, or are the divisions simply destroyed? i.e. if you know you are going to lose Oranienbaum because Germany keeps attacking it and lowering the fort level, do you have to abandon it to save any units there?

Is there any way to return railroad construction brigades to NKPS rail construction units for the Soviets? I moved the support units out, thinking it was better for them to be able to auto repair the rails, and now they can't repair rails at all???

Here I have an NKPS where I removed the RR construction brigades, and there is no button to click to repair the rail.

I thought that it just reduced how much you could repair, not stopped you repairing altogether? Kinda messes things up if I can't repair now and there is no way to reverse it (and sigh, it is a server game, so couldn't reload an old save to fix, although I did it a few turns ago anyway and only just started trying to use it for rail repair. Earlier I was using it for a super depot).

It's been impossible to assign SUs to FBD/NKPS units since release.

The Hex server is where most WitE2 discord discussions take place I believe, but it's not an official server. Hope it's OK to post this here! (If not I apologize in advance)

If I remember correctly there had been a bug so that the AI could teleport units to form a line at difficult level 100.
Does this bug still exist?

I did not play this great game for several month and also did not read the forum.

I would like to start a new campaign, but the AI will crush me if they still can teleport at normal difficult level, because I am a noob gamer.

Naval Interdiction

Post by Hardradi »

When I add up my naval interdiction values on a given hex, I get a total of +324. Looking at the hex with Show Interdiction Levels option on I see 2 for the hex. I hover over the hex and it says 23.

I understand that the 2 is 1/10 of the 23 but how does the 23 relate to the actual naval interdiction values accumulated of +324?

Quick question:

why are the German 12. ID and 32.ID not on the frontline but there is an empty hex between them and the 188th Rifle Division? Is this historically accurate? It does not make too much sense to me, as all the other German divisions are massed on the frontline.

How change Soviet Air Command

Post by mmoaorrke »

How do you change a soviet air command to a different front? Not using AI assist. Only option seems to be send to theater box. If I do send to a theater box can I then move it to a different front? Will it be different with Air Armies?

If not using any assists Air Commands are assigned to Ground Fronts with the Ground Support air directive. Just make a new air directive and select the front you want them to support from the list that appears.

to make a command attribution, right click on the unit tab and then change the linked Soviet front. if its simply a case of GS attribtution then use the approach from Darojax

there are some Soviet air commands that should be in the Theatres, if you've moved one of these to the map then not all the functions are available
