Turn 11 Real Turn Update

Moscow

The "Darkness" advances closer to Moscow this turn. Work has been killing me & haven't been able to concentrate fully on the game :( Hope to be finished tonight or tomorrow with the turn.

Turn 10

Moscow commentary Reading a defense

Just a note on reading a defense is knowing the retreat paths in yellow & using broken down Moto divisions or PZ divisions to force a retreat a certain way. I marked anticipated retreat paths to break the defense down with Red X's key jump off points. The Green retreat path I moved two of my units away from the retreat hex and attacked from a single hex after I had already retreated the 7=7 division and occupied with a German unit in that hex where the Soviet 7=7 once was.

To keep delay down on the first attack hex I attacked with heavy pipe hitters and deliberate attack. Was able to get a one delay in the hex I wanted to go through. (Weaker the attacking the Division the bigger delay and/or bigger the defense the bigger delay, seems to be the case so far in my experience. I could be totally wrong ;-) Hope this makes sense.

I may be close but that is a great deal of ground to take against a "very" stubborn opponent. I have figured out Jubjub's defensive tactics though which helps since all players are different. I did notice this turn that Soviet Fighters did not fly and there were no Armor reserve activations. Which has been the norm all the previous turns. Which tells me either Jubjub turned off reserve activation in front of Moscow for Armor OR he moved his armor forces North or South. Those Armor Divisions should start turning into brigades soon.

If I take Moscow, which definitely not a given in this game, would make taking Leningrad much easier. Very hard to supply Leningrad after the NSS in Moscow is gone and over 2 single track lines with any sizable force. At least that is what I am thinking at least and maybe it is possible.

Looking forward to seeing you try!

Tank divisions won't turn into brigades until turn 32, so you can continue truck hunting for quite a while longer. ;)

OH! Thank you for that information. Nice to know. I write the AAR to get feedback and in recent years seems to have diminished :(

To expand on that, they still only turn into tank brigades if they become low TOE. I have a tank division on turn 50 in another game.

Hyla is definitely helpful in teaching some game tricks!
I'll try to enact them in the future when I feel the game got some fixes, and I feel I can devote time to play Axis again.

Thank you all for the comments I appreciate that. I was referencing feedback on game play not praise towards me. For instance, Can I do something different? Am I looking at this wrong in the game of trying to get objective X when I should have gone for objective Y? We are all in this game together and would like to know everyones ideas (feedback if you will). I am by no means perfect & never will be. But I love hearing other peoples way of thinking on the multitude of decisions in this game. I believe all would benefit from such feedback. Those that have given feedback I thank you, "Thank you". By all means keep the comments & feedback coming because I know I sat on the sidelines a very long time myself from 2010 - 2016 in WITE before I became deeply involved. People can definatly benefit from those comments :). Thank you again and I will get off my soap box now.

I 100% don't know the Soviet side except up to turn 6ish. Thank you for this :). Nice to know

You are welcome. I am defiantly under a different impression on German capability compared to when I first started this AAR. Are there things to be looked at? Yes, and Joel Billings mentioned in a post ground and Air updates are in the works. But even in current patch of .9 I feel Germans a very capable. Takes a bit of a different game play which I have showed to a different degree with a tempered advance monitoring your supply with the redundancy in that supply and the Germans are pretty darn good. Am I right? Don't know but it feels right to me so far although at times I have to scratch and shake my head on some things.

Turn 11 update

Saturday I had unexpected company over & wasn't able to finish out the turn. I should have turn 11 over to Jubjub later tonight & will begin turn 2 of the Guctony game. I have to say thank you to Jubjub & Guctony on my long delays between turns because of my busy schedule and both opponents are a joy to converse with & very understanding. "Thank you" to both of you two. Plus both opponents have shown they are very good at playing the Soviets. Stalin is very proud of you two :)

Turn 11 Real Turn Update

Here is the current front line with "Historical Dates" transposed on the Map. For a great deal of the map the game has progressed to historical lines with some deviation of being ahead on parts and being behind on others. All in all looks pretty good. What do you think? Here is the front line from North to south with dates.

North

August 31 1941 is the current date for the turn for all of these pictures.

North has been stagnant for a long time now. But pretty close to historical here.
