If i remember correctly, they said you only have to sign once. And when you are not in the first wave you have a chance in the secound again without new registration...

I have already signed up for another beta. So I'll pass on this one. [:(]

Do we need to sign up again for beta or are you using the previous list that we signed up on but were not selected? Thanks

How funny, ahem, NOT, I am typing and typing and then, after sending my application it says:
You have already applied for this beta.

Oh no, please, do not forget me in this beta!
I need this and you need me![&o]

Phew! I survived a whole week since this announcement. Even if I am not accepted into the beta I can see I might last the 20-30 weeks until release....

Im thinking in silence about what i could possibly do to increase my chances to be selected. Since i know the game is only coming next year the emptiness is growing inside. I really dont want to wait till next year, even with the new battlefield coming i know i will be longing for this game.

I played dwu today but knowing that dw2 is coming and how amazing it is gonna be... so basically they ruined dwu but i have no access to dw2. In fact even playing stellaris just does not cut it anymore. I dont know what i should do so im just hoping that 1 day ill get an email so i can try dw2. The limited gameplay footage we have is also not helping, i have so many questions, at least watching some gameplay would help, even if its not as good as discovering the game for myself. That first playthrough is always so immersive when you contemplate your choices, more focus on discovery, you read every text.

So buttom line i cant take it anymore. Fingers crossed and if all else fails i hope the game comes in january the latest and its gonna be at least half as amazing as i imagine. Then i dont think ill need other games on my pc hahaha

Using an on-line calculator, I just found that it is 5.3 Months or 22.9 Weeks or 160.0 Days or 3840.0 Hours or 230400.0 Minutes or 13824000 Seconds until the end of Q1 2022.

I am getting my head around it arriving any sooner being a bonus, and getting into beta a super dooper bonus. That way I won't be disappointed.

TBH, RgZera I doubt there is any way of increasing chances - I bet they have thousands of applicants and just have to get a cross-section.

Posting here does relieve some tension though. Maybe we need an off-topic forum game thread or something to post in meanwhile - a waiting room thread, or pub thread, so people subscribed to this one don't keep getting e-mail notifications every time someone like me posts out of frustration....

I'm wondering if the modding guide can be dropped before launch as I would love to see what new goodies are unlocked to play around with on launch day.

Early Access/Open Beta isn't going to happen for this game though. It has potential drawbacks also, hurting the chance for a good first impression on the larger playerbase, as many players will find issues and abandon the game even though it's in beta.

Especially if it is on steam. There are some really good passion projects by lone devs that are updated regularly that still get totally trashed on the discussions. It's a real shame. Much better to have a closed beta with an NDA.

This 100%. If you're going to join Early Access you should expect issues. I have only refunded 1 E.A. title due to bugs and both were due to (at the time) system incompatibilities with my old HP Pavilion running older Intel integrated graphics (it didn't have the needed sharers to run the game but it had the correct OpenGL version). The longest EA that I have been a part of and love helping with is Automation - The Car Company Tycoon Game, I have been with them since the very first open beta.

IMO: if you're unwilling to suffer through bugs, glitches, and crashes then you should stick to full releases. Early Access, open/closed Betas, Alphas, any of the pre-release methods, are all a nice way to get more testing/development done, but Steam has kinda turned it into a "gimmie it now" and then complain about it not working.

Indeed. For as much as I don't always agree with how S/M handles their games, keeping them in closed beta -- and out of Steam Early-Access -- is one thing I'm 100% on-board with.
