Strategic Resources

Post by canuckgamer »

My friends and just bought the game earlier today. On page 57 of the manual it reads that each strategic resource increases production by 1%.

Looking at the map, I see a number of hexes that have SR and X2. I assume that SR indicates that it is a strategic resource so how does the X2 relate to the 1% increase?

Could you please post a screenshot? I am not sure to see where is the X2. You know the number of strategic resource in your hands by looking at this number.

I opened up the Campaign 1942 scenario. Japanese Production is 222/4 so they should hold 4 strategic resource locations. I looked on the map and found 4 hexes, 58,64 46,60 65,52 44,34 that had the description of SR X2. So the does the X2 mean that the Japanese gain 2% for that hex instead of 1% as indicated in the manual?

Sorry I see them but I don't see the description SR X2. Please post a screen. I don't understand.
I think Japan gains 1% only.

I took a screenshot but it is 1.01 MB and the maximum size allowed is 200KB. How do I reduce it to that size or is there another way to take a screen shot other than using Windows/PrntScn?

I'm surprised your map is different as it is a brown circle with the X2.

You may resize the pic with an editor.

I use paint.net, but there are many. It has many possibilities besides resizing.

Alternatively you may upload the pic to a third party site, like this, and post the link between Image

ncc1701e, no I am not using that mod. I am using the Uxbridge mod. Yes generalfdog, it is a brown circle with a X2 inside. For example, hex 46,60 adjacent to Haikou is one of the hexes. It has the crossed pick and axe (looks like it) SR in white letters inside a yellow oval and then X2 inside a brown circle. That is odd that it is used to designate the defense value of the hex which currently says 1.3 when I move the cursor over it. Why not just have it show as 2.6? Thanks for the links Nikel. I will check them out.

I am using no mod. I am using the vanilla version of the game. I have find your problem here:

This is the mod that gives misleading info:

By coincidence I just posted a question to Uxbridge in his mod thread using that exact screenshot which he posted asking about the meaning of the X2. I don't think it has any effect on the game but just curious. Thanks.

ncc1701e. how are strategic resource hexes shown in the vanilla graphics as I don't see any identifier in the hexes.
