Replacements, cycling stacks, and convoys

Post by Solaristics »

Just started playing and I have a few questions:

1. Is there any way to cycle the units in the stack so each can be brought to the top of the stack so I can see it?

2. How do replacements work? I have replacement points in the pool but unit strength points don't seem to be increasing. As the Allies, the units are in supply and I pushed the pools up to 100 for all Allied countries in case that was causing the problem. This number doesn't seem to change from turn to turn so I presume it is an upper limit. (As a minor point, I find the silhouette of the Japanese soldier in the Allies replacement pool quite off-putting.)

3. Where do named convoys begin and end? e.g. what is the start and end port for West Bengal Sea convoy? Also is there any way to identify which bit of the convoy marked on the map belongs to which named convoy as some merge into each other.

1. Continuous left clicking though the stack.

2. In WPE the graphic when you play the allies looks like an English soldier. But I don't know how this graphic may be modded.

3. They are interconnected so may be difficult to say the start and the end. West Bengal starts in Calcutta and ends connecting with Indian Ocean (South of Ceylon). When you click on the hex with convoy, the route appears in the window below left.

You are assigning points for upgrade and replacements. The manual will explain better than me.

The Y hot key is your friend here. It will display the convoy names directly on the map.

Thanks for all the replies. That helps a lot, and I found a section in the manual on replacements last night that I'd previously missed.

Stack cycling is still an issue though: as I cycle through the same unit remains on top throughout while I left-click cycle through selections. It would be nice to be able to see the unit I've selected on top.

The game is designed this way, perhaps AS may change it or add it as an option.
