New 1.02.20 Public Beta Now Available!
Greetings Everyone!
There's a new public beta update installer (v1.02.20) available from the store/My Page download areas.
If you prefer to use Steam, then you will need to opt into the changes by selecting the beta branch from the games Properties menu, listed as "beta - Open Beta". You can opt out at any time.
Changes:
v01.02.20 – 12th February 2022
Bug Fixes and AI Improvements
• Many ferry hexes are showing as Soviet controlled when they should not. Fixed.
• Air transport mission op losses were lower than other air mission op losses. Fixed. A part of the normal op loss formula was missing for air transports. With this fix, you will see much higher transport op losses (still low in daytime good weather missions). Op losses in bad weather will be noticeable. Op losses at night will be bad. Op losses at night in bad weather will be horrible (don’t do it).
• Units ordered by the player to move from a TB (including reserve) to the map during a campaign game have their vehicles zeroed out. Fixed.
• Changing red color value for Set Formation Color does not work when using in-game scaling over 100%. Fixed.
• AI – Improved AI to reduce chance the AI will launch a very weak/bad hasty attack.
Data and Scenario Changes
• Gtype file – Changes in air group profiles:
o FI Fighter changed from 36-12-4 to 40-10-3 (some units had 4 operating flights of ~10 each)
o FI Bomber changed from 36-12-4 to 18-6-3 (some units had three operating flights of ~6 each)
o FI Recon changed from 36-12-4 to 18-6-3 (some units had three operating flights of ~6 each)
• CityOwner file – Added city capture dates for some cities in the Balkans.
• OB file – Minor additions/adjustments to OBs, primarily for expansion scenarios.
• Device and ground files - Fixed the 20mm vz.36 and added a Bulgarian Air Support element (1596).
• Photos for ground elements 0242 and 1596.
• Leader file - raised the values of some Italian leaders (including Messe)
• Multiple map data files with changes in Finland for future scenarios. Also relocated maptext for Kiorstovo.
Happy Gaming!

Balkans, Finland.
Added to the great campaign or small scenarios? That is the question [:'(]
Perhaps Balkans yes, but not Finland?

OB fixes are working with a massive OB update. Its going to be awhile as the OB file gets completely restructured and all of the units in every scenario have to be realigned.

Oh I see. Thank you for your response, GA!
PS: a bit off-topic, but did you have the chance to have a look at my OOB rework mod? Is there anything from there that could potentially end up in the main game? Thanks! [;)]

To be honest, I haven't looked at it other than to browse the extremely long list of detailed changes in the forums
I have been extremely busy on the expansion scenarios and the OB update and have handed off most of the original scenario reviews to Dennis. Only so many hours in the day. BTW, I am starting on the Italian update this weekend and if you would like, I could post a screenshot on how the Alpini division looks.

RE: New 1.02.20 Public Beta Now Available!
I would like to express my deepest, most heart-felt thanks to the Matrix Games Staff, game designers, etc for the work they do. It is all too easy for good people (and there are MANY good people who play these games) to lose sight of the forest because of the trees. War is the most complex venture ever taken by mankind, even more so than outer space IMHO. I believe those here who have been in the military and gone to war, as I have, would quickly agree.
In my mind, at least, I believe trying to recreate war on an accurate, realistic scale is second only to war itself. I am sure there have been MILLIONS (perhaps even Billions) of lines of code written to create/publish/modify/correct all of the games here, but especially WITE2 which must be the MOST complicated of all Matrix games. This is not to mention the tens of thousands of man-hours put into research, design, graphics, manuals, etc, etc, ad nauseum, ad infinitum.
NONE of this is possible without the people who tirelessly work behind the scenes to bring this to pass, and for many it's a labor of love. For all of this they deserve our thanks, and they'll always have mine.
I'll close by saying, think about these things when you again post to the forum, and thank those who bring it to pass.

Thank you, Gunner, for putting into writing what so many people, including myself, feel but simply don’t share or have your gift for so eloquently putting into words. All parties involved in the continued development of this game truly do make up an amazing team!

Well said Gunner Garidel - I would also like to add that this is a darn good looking game. The map and counters are stunning. Every screenshot could be a map illustration for a book. Along with all the other improvements from the first game, this has all the hallmarks of a "game for life".
