Retrofit a group or selection of ships without forcing all to manual control

Post by rollhax »

Is this possible? I just got to the point where I want to explore/exploit systems in nebulas, so I added ion defense to all of my ships and stations. But I don't want to go through and manually click to retrofit and then re-automate.

Is there a way to either:

- retrofit a certain subset of ships, while leaving them on full automated?
OR
- tell a group of ships to fully automate?

I hate having to click a thousand times to re-automate ships that I've told to retrofit.

The best way is by using a temporary fleet. Select all the ships you want to retrofit or automate, put them in a fleet, then retrofit the fleet or set the fleet to auto. After that, disband the fleet again.

Ah nice, this is a good workaround, I'll definitely use it. Still, I'd like to see a button/way to do this without the required steps. Thanks!

EDIT: seems you have to have at least one military ship in the fleet for it to work, so doesn't work as easily for non-miliary ship (e.g. exploration ships).
