One hex island roads

Post by eskuche »

I will have to kudos my opponent who landed units opposing turn 1 SNLF taking of Midway/Canton etc. Much like Rabaul pre-patch, Allies can land in the hexes that Japan just wiped out turn 1, and I'm not even sure Japan has the capacity to land on the beach after hitting it. Thoughts?

Odd. Recently I took Canton Island on the first turn. When the turn passed to the Allies, the ownership had changed to Japan, even though it was still unoccupied. And the Allies could not invade it because the only legal hex to do is occupied by the SNLF. I just tested Midway and got the same result. I am playing 100.061 Small Fleet - however I am not sure if it is the most current version.

It was not the current version. I just uploaded 6.2 and invaded Canton Island. While unable to occupy, it still converts to Japanese ownership at the start of Allied turn 1.

In the early part if the Allies pull a move like that you can park a fleet outside the island and starve them to death.
