Agreed on the color choice. And I think they said it was planned.

What happend to Vassalisation? The same thing that happend to 13 of the 20 playable races - cut for release due to time constraints.
Remember they had to rereate the game from scratch.

In ship designer, I need component info text readily available again. In DWU I could right-click the component and open up the galactopedia to that component page and learn if I only needed one of something.

Some things just need more clarity in which components can stack and which can't. Also is it me but in the visual slots there isn't much visual difference if I put heavy armour there or deflector shield, it's the same visual taking that spot.

I would love to have the galactopedia descriptions of the different components in the research tree. Or that you get there via tool tip or something like that. Sometimes its hard to figure out what which component is.

Better Gifting

The Bribe options should mention how much relations they give.
Even better would be, if the Relationship impact of the money would be included in the "wants treaty" calculation.

Abandoned ships and stations

There should be a way to directly recycle ships, rather then reparing them. Naturally for a lesser gain.

It should also be possible to recycle stations for tech, using Construction ships or the local colony (if there is one).

Retrofitting ships should yield tech bonuses for every piece that is replaced.

There should be a filter for "carries tech bonus" and "bigger then we can build" on the ship list.

A warning if a abandoned ship is found (and thus can be targetted for recovery).

Both, also with the Amount of Text, I vote for the Galactopedia being fullscreen again.
I always pause when reading there anyway, so sense letting the Automation ruin my Empire while I try to understand some features.

Or having this optionial for all sidebar menus. quarterscreen, half screen, fullscreen.

Jumping

Please show the Cooldown and/or Initiation time instead of "jumping". Also maybe a "waiting for fleet" when that applies.
So I got a rough Idea why that one ship is just on "jumping" all the time.

Hive

Please give us a way to turn off the hive.

Please remove the tendency of the Hive to jump away. With it's superior FTL it is impossible to stop it. And it is supposed to be non-sane.
Please split the hive into a bunch of smaler ships and make sure they do not gather unless the enemy is actually defeating them. 26k without fighters is still too much for many destroyer fleets, who have issues even engaging all at once.

Diplomacy

Allow us to set what kind of Sharing we want to allow for what level of friendship.
For example, I really do not want to share my galaxy map with all my exploration data!

Give us general policies on how to deal with Pirates and Independant colonies.
Ideally allow us to set that in the proper Diplomacy interface, as this can varry based on game.

Build for Fleet

Under Ship Construction -> Build Order, please allow me to select a fleet to add Military ships to.
This would allow the game to queue the ships near the fleet and automatically add it to the fleet.

Build Queue and Shipyards

The ship queue order should propably be:
State Retrofits
State Building
Civilian retrofit
Civilian Building
Retiring

Retrofits inherently are a lot quicker then building. They also free up a Ship that is already in use.
Retiring for technology inherently is the longest running operation.

The Private Economy should not queue more then 2 retrofits/buildings per Role, per Shipyard. As that just leads to some shipyards being flooded with a backlog, while the rest is empty.

Spaceports should have a higher focus on construction yards. 2 Shipyards should propably be the starting setup, with 1-2 added per size increase. We build them for ship building, not firepower - so the Fighter cover is pretty secondary.

Diplomacy Tech
It should require less Micro to get the Diplomacy techs via Espionage.
Stuff like actually automatically re-queing the Mission on success. Swapping over to the next tech.
It should also be easier to get the tech, if you already got a lot of progress in it (from hard work or previous operations).
The Operation should be valid for Auto-Queue if you are aiming for friendly relations, as better Diplo Tech directly helps with that aim.

Species Dosier
Maybe getting the lower Diplomacy techs should be doable by a dedicated Spy task?
This operation would target a Species rather then a Empire. And would grant progress in the lower 1-3 Diplomacy techs.
A similar operation could exist for the Ambassador.

.)A message that tells me if a ship got destroyed and where.

.) Estimated Time of arrival for ships and fleets

.) The ability to set restriction Zones for the Private Sector
The Leader of a Galactic Imperium should be able to make some laws like that.
( Avoid Dangerous Systems, maximum range from nearest colony .. )

.) detailed readout for corruption and a trend indicator ( rising, falling ) similiar to diplomacy

.) detailed readout for my own empires reputation

.) The ability to sort by "Star System" in expansion windows ( colonies, mining )
sorting by Name does not work, because some Locations have individual Names

Search function (just like the RegoerBacon Mod), but even better.
Just with a shortcut accessible to find stars, ships, mines, planets (with wildcards)

Working kind of like Star Ruler 2 or Polaris Sector.

Please just make the basic Ion Defense Armor a passive or give Ion Defense a special slot.

Making it a Armor and hoping the Designer includes it is plain not working.
And havign to install Ion Defense in civil ships is a waste of Fuel, Slots and Space.

It would also avoid any issues with stuff not building or staying online due to Nebula effects.

Colonization

When an independent asks to be colonized, please keep the colonization chance at 100%. Often by the time you have got a colony ship there, the colonization chance has dropped and the colonization is rejected.

Alternatively have another event show up when the colonization chance drops saying: "We don't want to be colonized any more". This gives the player the chance to react to this.

Someone said you are supposed to wait until you got a Free Trade agreement. At which point the chances should stay reliably at 100%.

Not always true. But this should be fixed. A workaround is have your colony ship move to a point near the potential colony and then colonize manually....GP

Ship Designer

The list should have a indicator "component Upgrades availibe".
So I know when they are.a design needs a manual pass.

Stuff like "Maximum Engines Reached" should not be a recommendation.
Instead I think you need a 3rd thing. Call it a "notification".

Excess Component
With upgrades it can often happen that Crew Quarters and reactors become Superflous. The better version can do the same work with 1 component less. Which saves a ton of space and slots.

Right now I have to:
- manually remove the component
- realize it is not enough without it
- search for the component in the list to re-add it
- or cancel and restart the upgrade process, as that can be quicker

Some suggestions to solve that:
- A notification or recommendation "excess component". I am not sure how to idenfity the right component (as the Commandcenter also adds crew, but is there for a lot of other reasons), but maybe the biggest providing component only? Or does it need a dedicated recommendation?
- Undo button. Then I can try and undo if it fails
- Give me a option to select a item type from the design bay. Middle Mouse Click to "grab" the component type is my first guess.

The Defense Fleets should be named after their current Base or the System of their current base.
They can still be numbered if for some reason you got 2 based in the Same System.

Similar could be done for the Invasion fleets.
