Just wanted to say this is excactly what I think many people have been wanting for a long time. Just keep these things in mind: Pacing, Scale and Interface. If you get those right, this will be a runaway hit. Hell, lots of people bought HoI, depite it getting all of those elements wrong ;)

Exactly. I spent many hours in college on A & A (Axis & Allies). This sounds like a grown-up version of that game. WITP will be work, enjoyable work, but work none the less. This will be a good counter-balance to the details of that game. I hope.
