Change System Name?
Is it possible to change the system name and associated planets? I looked at the editor and could change the planet names and stars, but the entire system remained the same (the original name in the box at the bottom of screen). Any way to change the name of the entire system?
Or, alternatively, have the name of your starting system pre-determined?

Has anyone been able to get a ship to refuel itself with mining engines like the Hive ships do? It only ever seems to want to mine stuff and dump it off somewhere.

Yeah I've been able to do like deep space refueling depots with a pair of fuel tankers but the dream would be to have a battleship or something be able to refuel itself.zgrssd wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 2:39 amFuel Tankers do it. How do you conduct trade with independent colony? We both are in range, have luxury resources to exchange and a free trade agreement, but freighters just won't visit.

For calculations, Private Economy never has to pay for what it mines itself.
But it does have to pay to what it buys elswhere.
I only use the agreements to give myself a decent Colonisation success Score.

Yes it is. At a realy low priority. I'm having trouble with Asteroid Fields. First - my explorers on auto always waste years and years on them (and always seem to go for them first). Second, they seem useless. Am I missing something? Should I ever build a mining station there? I've never seen a reason to.

Also Years? Maybe a week for me.
As for their use: Asteroids fields are the only reliably source of steel. And they are a good source, especially with high range mining stations.

A question regarding fuel tankers: do they require cargo bays or fuel cells to store fuel? There's nothing about it in the Galactopedia, but the automatic designer puts several cargo bays on them.

Normally, the fuel cells are for the ship itself (to feed fuel to the reactors). In DW:U, the ships that had a similar (but not identical) role as the Fuel Tankers in DW2, needed cargo bays to store and carry fuel. I have a question about the message board on the right side of the screen when messages pop up
Why does it have a timer when I can't even get time to click on a message before it just disappears after a split second
Even when I have a few messages they just disappear after a split second
Is it a bug?

1) What is "HighTech" Research? I could increase it by 20% but I cannot find anything belonging to it.
2) More than one concurrent research: I understand that this can make retrofitting more efficient. Is there something else to make use out of it?
3) All my tourists go to my homeworld (tourism flow). I built a lot of other resort bases. My question: when and where should you build resort bases?

Are there some pre-requesite to load colonist onto a a colony ship?
If the colony ship is on automated, the ship wait for ever to load colonist.
If the colony ship is on manual, when right clicking on the home world, the mission is aborted in a few secs. ( there is no info or explanation at all in the game...)
When looking at details, the ship can "escape the Extravagant Dream", which is an independant freigher.
Any clue on what to do ?

If the colony ship is on manual, when right clicking on the home world, the mission is aborted in a few secs. ( there is no info or explanation at all in the game...)
When looking at details, the ship can "escape the Extravagant Dream", which is an independant freigher.

They can move fuel from bays to tanks, but only do so around 50%.
However, the cargo bays contents are ignroed for range prediction, so multiple fuel cells help it better calculate how far it can jump.

2. It slows you down. Avoid it. You only need it if you have a crash programm but need something else to finish too.
3. It is possible the tourist target selection or display have a bug.

How do I get Fleets/Fleet to actually do what I ordered it to? I have a fleet (very early game set to manual) that I keep trying to have it "defend" the planet/system. Every time I check it, it's not doing anything (No Mission). I thought defending was a mission, why does it not do that? I have had a few pirate attacks, and it's not doing anything. Also, is there a way to set the fleet back to "Automated," I basically gave up trying to get to defend and want it to do something besides sit there. Thanks in advance.

There is no "defend" order, so I am not sure what you mean. There is a "guard" order, but that's for specific assets, like stations. Selecting a "defense" type of fleet might not achieve what you want. - Assign a right-click "Patrol" command for that system;
- Make sure you have the adequate fleet settings: "aggressive" behaviour and "same system" range of attack.
If after doing this your ships still don't intercept enemies inside the system, post a bug report.

so i started like third time and once again i got abandoned spaceport in my home system.
and again after rebuild it doesnt work - cant get Steel and Membar on it, saying "mined here", aha, without any mining equipment.
