Question About 1.00.06.2

Post by canuckgamer »

My friend and I installed the above hot fix. When we launch the game and the screen with the picture of Nimitz and Yamamoto appears it indicates 1.00.06.2 at the top right. However when we click Play which takes us to the screen where you have the box with New Game, Load Game etc. it displays 1.00.06.1 at the bottom left. I just want to make sure that this is an error in not updating the version number on this screen but the hotfix has been applied. Thanks.

Same here, I assume this is the 6.2 version as such.

It is correct. Matrix took the right 1.00.061 version but put a 062 on it.

Originally they grabbed the wrong files.

BTW everything auto updates now easily. I reduced the probability of update errors but pretty much zero. I also passed this on to Matrix how I did it hopefully to help with other games.

The other reason why I was questioning whether we had in fact updated correctly is that in the past when we installed an update, the next time we tried to open up a multiplayer game we had to re-enter our user name and password. In this case we were not required to do that. Is it because we are starting a new multiplayer?

Well, since the beginning, after each patch, I need to put back my credentials. No problem with that. Storing a password somewhere is not good for security.

I don't have a problem with having to enter my username and password after installing an update either. I was just surprised that didn't happen so it left me wondering if the update had taken, especially after also noticing the discrepancy in the version numbers.

We just started a new PBEM with me as the Allies. I noticed that there were two overruns by the Japanese, one of them at only 2-1 odds. I hope the problem with overruns has in fact been corrected with this patch.
